Deep South Blenders Inc. Family owned local New Orleans Spice Company since 1972. Custom blenders of food ingredients. The principles involved then were Ed, Sean, and Kim Brown.

Deep South Blenders' History:

Deep South Blenders Incorporated is a family owned and operated corporation based in Louisiana. Formed in February of 1972, the Company began blending spices for two accounts. Those same customers are still among our list of satisfied customers. The weekly output of the garage sized plant would fit inside of our large blender today. In 1974, the operation was moved t

o a location on Freret street in the uptown district of the City of New Orleans. It was in this 870 square foot plant where the customer list expanded. In a few short years Deep South outgrew the location on Freret street and sought out a larger facility. A building on Derbigny street, in Metairie, LA became the company's next production facility. Deep South occupied the plant for 16 years (1976-1992). Soon the company experienced even more growth. The company decided to expand its sales efforts outside the boundaries of pre-blended spices and ingredients for sausage kitchens. It soon began custom blending and private label product services. A larger more efficient plant, at 720 St. George street in Jefferson, LA was purchased in 1992 and will see to the Company’s expansion needs for the near future. The Company enjoys a very impressive customer list including franchises of national supermarkets, large independent supermarkets, some of New Orleans' most famous restaurants, industrial food manufacturers, and many others. However, the individually owned and operated grocery is still a very important part of our business. Deep South Blendersâ is proud of the organization that we and our employees have built. We will continue to strive to always give the customer a little more than he can get from our competition, along with the quality and service the customer deserves.
