Presidential View Farm

Presidential View Farm Hello, we are the Savage family from Jefferson, NH. 3rd generation revitalizing the family farm. Our Farm was established in 1933 by Gordon J.

Please join us on our journey as we continue the traditions of the small family dairy farm. Savage Sr., and his wife Pauline Fox Savage, my paternal grandparents. My parents, Gordon J. Savage Jr., and his wife Lena Pray Savage, purchased the farm in 1960. It operated as a small dairy farm of mainly Jersey's until they retired in October of 2002. We are David, Kate, Ainsley and Kayleigh Savage and

are the third generation to operate the farm. We changed the name in 2004 to Presidential View Farm, to honor the beautiful views of the surrounding presidential mountain range. The farm has not shipped milk since 2002, but our friends in a neighboring town who own a dairy have kept the fields hayed and we have also raised dairy heifers and a few beef animals since then. We have had the desire to get the dairy operating again and have slowly been gathering equipment and supplies necessary for the past thirteen years to make it happen. In May of 2015, David lost his mother who was 78. It was a real eye opening experience that there wasn't going to be any better time to get this project underway than now. Especially with two young daughters who are very eager to be working with dairy cattle. We are in the long, diligent process of breathing new life into the farm, restoring its former beauty and showing pride for our community. We hope to promote agriculture and inspire others as we have been inspired.

Today has also been National Dandelion Day! 🌻

A powerhouse full medicinal and healing properties Dandelions can be harvested for greens, soup, jelly, pesto, and even wine!

Cultures worldwide thought of the dandelion as a “common herb” and have used every part of the plant as both nutritious food and powerful medicine.
Dandelions are good for digestion and may ease rheumatism or liver problems. In fact, one of the plant’s common nicknames in French—pissenlit (pee-the-bed)—attests to dandelion’s use in traditional healing cultures as a valuable diuretic agent (rich in potassium).

This has a good potential!! We're interested in knowing the secret to what our herd is trying to say too.

Researchers at Dalhousie University are using AI to analyze more than 8,400 hours of audio of cows, in a quest to determine whether different vocal patterns have different meanings.

❄️ Groomed trails update ❄️

From Waumbek Snowmobile Club

We're enjoying 👀 snowmobiles on the Pipeline Trail.

Comment below 👇🏼 if you ride the trail behind the farmhouse.

As of today, January 8, we have 80% of trails open for Waumbek Snowmobile Club, marginal to moderate conditions, use caution. Rt 2 over to Lowes is unpassable with trees down. We are working on clearing them up now and hopefully will have this rectified soon. The parking lot on 115A in Jefferson Village is CLOSED due to construction. You can use Waumbek Methna Club parking lot but please DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE CLUBHOUSE. Thanks for your patience, stay safe, and enjoy the trails. Keep an eye on FB and our website for our trail updates and events.
