Hope Springs is a quiet, family-run facility offering English lessons to students of all ages.
We had a very busy weekend at the BHSA Classic on Saturday and Red Gate Farm on Sunday. The girls stepped up in style and had some great rides. Everyone came home with ribbons and rides to be proud of. It was an exhausting but great weekend of showing!
Today’s show started with a bad fall for Artie and Megan, who are thankfully okay! The pre-short and short stirrup kids picked up the torch and went on to earn some great ribbons in their ring! Charlee and Luigi had, by far, their best rounds and rides to date in huge classes. I am just as proud of the ones with the champion ribbons as the ones without. They all showed they were champions today.
If you give your child a pony, they will want to ride. You’ll buy them the best pony you can find, followed by a hat, boots and all the other things pony.
You look for a local stables to ride at where you start to socialise with the horsey community...and then life as you know it, will end.
Before you know it, they want to go to shows so you join BS …there will be no more lazy weekends watching TV. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible.
Every spare minute of your time will be spent driving horseboxes and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the next show.
Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a pony. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting dirty!!!!
You will be there the day he or she takes the first few steps of canter, the first taste of a jump, first rosette, first win. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the pony, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who bounced around on their rocking horse into an exceptional young horse enthusiast on the hunt for the next HOYS ticket or maybe even the Olympics!
When you give your child a pony, you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hope and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a pony.
Because you gave your child a pony, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have an equestrian family because you gave your child a pony.
Then one day, many years from today…they will be in their room and a certain trophy will catch their eye. And they will pick it up and realise instantly that when you gave them a pony, you also gave them a childhood that they would never forget. At this point, you realise that everything you gave up along the way and sacrificed was totally worth it…..
All because you gave your child a pony...

The girls had a great day showing yesterday! They are mastering showmanship, teamwork, celebrating accomplishments and handling disappointments with grace. They are quite the team!
Week 3, Day 5! Camp 2023 wrapped up today with some games on the horses, barn cleanup, treat decorating, mini barn making, and some pool time! This past 3 weeks has been a whirlwind, but hearing the kids talk about how much fun they’ve had makes it all worth it!
Week 3, Day 4! We caught up on arts and crafts today, learned a drill ride, learned a lot from Dr. Burdick as he floated teeth, and of course.. had pool time!
Week 3, Day 4! Today we rode a drill ride. For a first time, I think this turned out great! More pics to post later, but turn up the music and enjoy!

Week 3, day 3! We changed it up today and went on a field trip! The girls had an amazing time learning to play polo! We also tried a jump chute with a few of the horses, and they all did great!
Week 3, Day 2! Our new barn managers today kept things running smoothly through feedings, we improved our jumping skills by working on grids, we did some spring cleaning in the barn during the rain, had time for arts and crafts, and had more time for a swim!
Being barn manager for a day means fixing fence first thing in the morning!
Week 3, Day 1! This week’s group is learning how to run a barn. We have barn managers each day, and are learning what things to look out for in the day to day of horse ownership. We also rode horses from largest to smallest, did some arts and crafts, and had a quick jump in the pool.

Week 2 finished off today with a blur of activity! We finished all of our crafts, made horse desserts, decorated treats, played games on the horses, played our “messy barn” game, ate popsicles, and finally got some pool time! We had a wonderful week!! I have the best helpers and campers! One more to go!
Week 2 day 4! The weather has not been perfect, but it’s not stopping us from all of our fun! Today we rode obstacles, played hide-n-seek in the barn, had a horse show on foot, dressed up some ponies, made horse treats and horse treat jars!
Week 2, Day 3… it was a little wet! We are so thankful for the rain, and we were still able to ride! We also cleaned all of our tack, learned parts of the horse, tacked up blindfolded, and did lots of arts and crafts in the garage!
Week 2, day 2! Today we took advantage of the dry day and rode in the field, rode bare back, did some ground work, tie-dyed, spray painted, and swam in the pool! Praying Mother Nature cooperates for the rest of the week!
Week 2 is off to a great start! We painted wind chimes and a pony today, had a great ride in the ring, gave a bath, played games, had popsicles, and of course- pool time!
In between camps, we squeezed in a show! Beautiful weather and some great rides today. So proud of these riders!

Week one is in the record books! Today we played games on and off the horses, did some ground work, decorated horse treats, fed a treat to the horses, had some popsicles, and had pool time! What a fun week! Too many pics for one post!
Week 1, day 100- oh wait- day 4! How do we get it all in? Today we rode new horses, tried obstacles, practiced balance and “trail riding”, made treat jars and horse treats, painted Lenny and practiced bathing, and of course, pool time!
Week 1 Day 3… today we did the Macarena, the Hokey Pokey, and YMCA- all on horses and over jumps and poles! We also tie-dyed lead ropes and decorated horse shoes. These girls also worked on the parts of the horse and their tacking up skills… blindfolded! To finish off the chilly day, these crazy kids got in the pool!
Week 1, Day 2! We had a blast today taking our “shirt pictures”, riding (of course), painting horse shoes and shirts, having a grooming contest (amazing before and afters!), swimming, and playing games. We even had a popsicle treat!
It’s that time! Camp jumped off today with a ride in the field, ba****ck obstacles, arts and crafts, a fun game in the barn finding what was wrong, and of course… pool time!
Out again this weekend showing at Red Gate Farm. Great weather again, along with more fun and more ribbons! All the girls rode very well today!!
We had a long, but great day at Southern Heritage this weekend. I love the pictures that were sent to me of the day because these not only show the ribbons, but they show the team work, the sportsmanship, and the kids’ love for each other and their horses. I am so proud of all of them!

Our 2023 Horse Show Season is in full swing! We have already had two great shows! I am so proud of how far these girls have come and how hard they work. They are an amazing team of riders, and I can’t wait to see how they do this season!
This weekend come in for our starter/ camp package and get a free pair of riding gloves and a free pair of boot socks!!!

Had some more fun getting off the property today with some of our greenies. Everyone had a great time!
We kicked off the show season with a low-key, fun outing to our first ever jumper show! We did freeze, but we also came away with ribbons! We had a lot of fun trying something new! The kids and ponies all rose to the occasion and smiled all day!
We were able to celebrate the accomplishments of our riders this weekend at the BHSA banquet. Fun night with an incredible barn family. I’m so proud of these riders! Looking forward to 2023 shows!

It was a week! Just today we had a lot of feed and hay delivered, lessons, and a farrier visit. The hay elevator broke, so we were thankful for Devin, who was able to toss those bales right into the hayloft!!
Sully had a rare outing in a saddle and got to sport his giraffe accessories!
A cute new face joined the family today! Welcome, Starbucks! We can’t wait to get to know you!
