It’s never easy losing a pet. My farm animals may provide food for us but I still consider them my pets. It’s who I am, I get attached. After a long, difficult kidding, Gwynevere gave us 3 tiny sweet doelings and one big stillborn buckling. Having no farm vet on call and me doing everything I could to help her survive, she sadly passed away while I was by her side yesterday. She and her twin Gypsy Rose, were my first goats. They came to live on our farm at 4 months old. Gwynny and I were best of friends from the start. If I didn’t pay attention to her she’d let me know. We buried her along side her baby boy under our apple tree. 😢
