Generous imperfections: enough to prove to the next few generations that it was conceived and made by a human, not a robot, program, or AI.

Complete and functional enough to remind me (hopefully often) that things can still happen outside of / in addition to the farm and family. I can still have a full identity and perspective; even with an extremely full and busy life, even in a sad world.

So fun and exciting it deserves a post, St Louis highlight!
is a re-use store for donated and recycled materials. They do art classes too: fiber arts, stained glass, wood working, painting and more. Every city should have one. So cheap it is almost a materials library.

Tending a new garden on the side.

Relieved to prove to myself after years of holding onto fabrics and letting my machine collect dust and not actually making time to sew anything that I will and can just pick up and start making something new. No deadline (thank goodness), just a special thing for our home. I am learning how to carve out and balance my time, little bits here and there, to follow inspiration and practice other interests.

After 15 years we said goodbye to our beautiful Brown baby.

She had a great smile with a very pink tongue, velvet ears, liked a tight ship on the farm and had a deeply sensitive heart. She liked when we would sing her song (a song all about being a little brown dog) and one of her favorite pastimes was to stare deep into your eyes and try to steal a kiss with her legendary bad breath.

First a great younger sister to Beb, then a great older sister to Skillet, her passing marks the end of an era. She was by my side three farms ago, through broken hearts, bad boyfriends, cat funerals, old trucks, new homes, and even our baby. It is hard to say goodbye, but elderly dog are so special and such a gift.

It was an honor to be her human, we will miss you so!
