When you think of the best wines from the Jura, Nicolas Jacob should be up at the top. Although only producing his own wines since 2019, he has the finesse of a veteran winemaker. Nothing trendy here, just clean, bright, vibrant, and powerful wines. If you are lucky enough to drink one you will see why he sits up at the top with the likes of the O.G.’s… think Puffeney, Labet, Macle, or Ganevat (The latter two Jacobs studied under before going off on his own). We have 4 Cuvées right now.
Là-bas - Chardonnay VDF 2023 - vines from 1983 on the marl soils of L’Etoile - great tension with minerality and acidity.
Les Chazaux - Chardonnay VDF 2023 - Vines from the 80’s in Augea on Triassic and Liassic marl soils. Complex with great depth, and classic vibrant Chardonnay as to be expected of his wines.
Les Chazaux - Savagnin Côtes du Jura 2023 - Vines from 1991 in Augea on Triassic and Liassic soils. Pure Savagnin Power
Gamay - Negoce cuvée from a trusted friend’s fruit in Southern Beaujolais - Plush fruit, beautiful floral notes, a real chugger!
