My latest leather project is truly a labor of love. These seven custom art pieces are hand-carved and hand-painted Beatrice Potter-themed pictures for my future granddaughter’s nursery. Every piece was so much fun, and Maddi and I had a blast choosing a whimsical variety of frames. Now it just counting down the remaining 10 weeks until she will be in the crib below them 💕

Hazel and Penny would like to file a formal complaint over our shearing capabilities. But they should feel more comfortable this week and they no longer have Velcro fleece, so will have beautiful coats for winter.

And then there were two! Meet our second sweet girl, Hazel. She was also born at a crazy 386 days. Fun fact - alpacas can stall their pregnancy. Her momma, Pixie, was having a terrible time maintaining weight with this pregnancy, so we think she probably stalled it while we got her going on way more calories throughout the winter and spring. Hazel is a tiny peanut but a real spitfire. See the video in comments and you’ll understand that Pixie is going to be kept on her toes.

Official introduction of our adorable new lady. Meet Pendant aka Penny. She is a beautiful Appaloosa from our herdsire, Lincoln, and our dam, Locket. She baked a whopping 386 days.

Congratulations to our great friend, Colette, on her new addition, Peppy Burnin Holidoc (Dakota)! She’s had her eye on him since he joined our herd, and now he’s heading to meet his new friends, JT, Piru, and Duke. We look forward to watching him in the coming years.

It's someone's birthday today! Whiskey is 2!!!! Not gonna lie, at about this time two years ago, we had serious doubts whether Whiskey would make it. He was a fighter and so were we. Today, he is a perfectly normal firecracker who we love. Happy birthday, Whiskey - enjoy some extra hay today.

Whiskey here. Just when I start to think my two leggeds are maybe sort of smart, they once again prove me wrong. Today they decided all of us colts had to do their dumb training. We all had to go in and out of the trailer and they ooo and ahhh like it’s some big deal. Then Rooster had to go walk through all the obstacles that are so easy. And Kota and I had stuff thrown on our backs and walked around. And they think he are rock stars for doing these stupid things. I mean, come on, give us a little credit. Jeesh.

Happy May Day! In this month’s Critter Corner we also get to say Happy Birthday! Today, Boone dog is 1! We weren’t planning on another dog. I was fine playing with all his litter mates. And then I picked up Boone and the rest is history. Love this little maniac - it’s been a fun adventure.
