Sim is here on his own so we’re closing the kitchen at 5pm tomorrow, Saturday 5/23. It’s Libby’s birthday and Jesse and the kids are taking her to the movies.

Be nice to Sim. He’s gonna try to make small bites like pretzels and things but it’s really going to be a game day decision. It’s totally up to him so be polite.

Pictured is the love of my life redeeming something like a years worth of returnables. She’s going to take the money later on and go to BY HERSELF and buy stuff, which is how I imagine we’ll end up with a forsythia behind the barn.

I love this lady, . Have for years. And it’s not the special days that make it, though we’ve had those. It’s the daily navigation, the minutia, the knowing that even when she’s giving me that look that means I did something alarmingly stupid she’s still in my corner about it.

Celebrate the mothers, and mother figures, in our lives. Ideally with our beer. They’re irreplaceable. The mothers/mother figures, that is. Hopefully we’ll always have beer.
