Some goats leave hoofprints on your heart… and for me, one of those was Helga.
This is the original ADGA registration certificate for 3 Kids Farm VW Helga. I would consider Helga the matriarch of our herd — one of those special girls who became part of the foundation and history of 3 Kids Farm.
We sadly lost Helga this spring, and I still miss that old girl more than I can put into words. 💔
So when I was given the opportunity to have a drawing of Helga herself added to her registration papers, I knew I had to do it.
It’s a work in progress, and I’ll definitely share it when it’s complete.
The artist is also a goat breeder, and her talent is just incredible. I absolutely love that she understands what these animals mean to us — they're not just names on pedigrees or numbers in a herd book. They become family, and they leave a legacy behind.
I can't wait to see Helga's portrait become part of the very paper that tells her story. ❤️

Confession: I made goat milk yogurt "just to try it."
Now I'm standing over a bowl of it with strawberries wondering why I've spent years buying yogurt at the store. 🤦‍♀️🍓

This homemade batch was made from our farm-fresh goat milk and cultured overnight. The result? A thick, creamy tangy yogurt, not "goaty" AT ALL packed with probiotics and topped with fresh strawberries.
Definitely a keeper recipe! 🍓🐐

🚨 Herdsire announcement 🚨
Our new herd sire, "Here Be Goats Licorice Root" has officially arrived!

Our new boy rolled in around 12:30 last night all the way from Florida via livestock transport, and WOW. To say I’m impressed would be putting it mildly. This little guy stepped off that trailer like he owns the place.... Confident, flashy, sweet, and absolutely packed with quality.
And that pedigree… whew. 🔥
Licorice’s dam is Agape’s Prize Cardi B VVEE 88 — Cardi B is backed by some serious powerhouse genetics including: 🏆 2021 National Champion CH Wood Bridge Farm 22K Gold 🏆 2018 National Champion GCH Wood Bridge Farm Scarlet Rose *M
And then his sire: ✨ *B Wolfivan Kava Kava Root — son of the incredible 2024 National Champion & Best Udder winner GCH Wolfivan CQ Ginger Root.
Honestly… you pretty much can’t build a lineup much better than that.
Needless to say, I am absolutely SMITTEN. 😍 A huge thank you goes out to Here Be Goats Lamancha & Nigerian Dairy Goats for entrusting us with this stellar young buck. We could not be happier with what we are seeing in him. And his temperament..... just wow😍... that don't come better❤️

Remember when you said: “We’ll just keep a manageable number of goat kids this year.” 🤦‍♀️
Anyway… here’s the current hostage situation video. 🐐🍼

• 2 bucklings

✔️ Healthy

✔️ Already over a month old
✔️ On twice-a-day bottles

Extremely talented at: • climbing things they absolutely shouldn’t
• screaming because you EXIST
• acting starved 11 seconds after a bottle
• parkour off feed pans
• convincing grown adults they “need just one more goat”

The hard part is done.
Our sanity is hanging by a thread… but technically still present.

These are NOT sale-yard specials. These are healthy, thriving, well-bred quality kids that just happened to arrive during what was apparently a complete lapse in our judgment and mathematical abilities.

At this point we are accepting applications, hostage negotiators, or witness protection relocation services.

Gotta say, this made me smile. I love that our goats are doing well in other herds as well :)

3 goats… 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats of all things... this mornings milking = 3/4 of a gallon of milk which means each of these girls are doing 1 Quart every 12 hours or 1/2 gallon a day…..

All 3 are from 3 Kids Farm Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats…. So if you’re looking for goats that can milk I can attest that they have the goods.

I will have a doeling available out of one of these girls and there are still wethers available!

This year we will be very picky on who stays. I have certain numbers all of my girls need to hit or they go. We don’t have space for goats that only milk 1-2 cups a day when we have heavy hitters giving us this.

We have some new lil visitors in the house this morning.
Twin doelings arrived early this morning. They have been started on the bottle and are looking for a different zipcode.
They have not quite "unfolded" yet, but should be nice lil ladies. These would be a great 4h project, pets or potential milkers. Their dam is a first freshner. She's just newly fresh, but appears she's gonna milk.

We are off to a stellar start with our kidding season! "Josephine" kidded about 4 am with triplet doelings.🩷🩷🩷 She definitely understood the assignment!
These cuties are full siblings to "3 Kids Farm Talkin' Smack", who won best jr doe of all breeds last year at Syringa Dairy Goat Show, which is probably the largest show in Idaho.
We will be watching these lils grow for a while. We certainly will be retaining at least one.
Anyone have name ideas??? We want them names something sorta "redneck" for lack of better terms. Their sire goes by the name "Trashy", his full registered name is SDS Farm Trashy Tongue Talker. And of course mama's name is Josephine, but we want a bit of a redneck theme on these babies.
