We still have some great picking this morning for another 3 more hours. The patch will be closed on Thursday to allow ripening in a few areas to insure we have great picking for this weekend..Pre-Picked berries are hitting the shelf already this morning here at 8am as well.

Strawberries are ripe and the fields at Kohler Strawberry Farm, 10400 Jerome Road just off of U.S. 12, were hopping with families taking advantage of you-pick berries.

🍓🍓🍓 Wednesday, June 17th Farm Update 🍓🍓🍓

Mother Nature appears to have put the berry ripening process on "economy mode" this week thanks to the cooler temperatures. As a result, our hours are a little wonky and we're having to farm by the seat of our pants... which is pretty much how farming works anyway.

Tomorrow morning we are going to go heavy on a section of Jewel berries that still has some GREAT picking available. The gate opens at 7:00 AM for U-Pick, and we anticipate picking conditions will remain good for about 3 to 4 hours. I will do a better job providing hourly updates throughout the morning so you know exactly what conditions look like before making the trip.

🍓 U-Pick: $3 per quart
🍓 Pre-Picked: $5 per quart

Pre-Picked berries will start a little before 9:00 AM and will be available while supplies last. As always, pre-picked berries are first come, first served. We do NOT accept orders, reservations, holds, pinky promises, secret handshakes, or "can you save me a few quarts?" requests. 😆.

⚠️ We may choose to close on Thursday to allow some patches time to ripen and recover so we can offer excellent picking again on Friday. We'll make that decision based on conditions and provide updates as we go.

Farming is wild. It's never the same two days in a row and it's about as predictable as a husband in a tool store. One minute he's "just looking" and the next minute he's loading something into the truck that somehow became a necessity. 🤣

We are open from 7am till 12pm for U-Pick, and Pre-Picked berries will be available starting around 9am while supplies last.

It's a beautiful morning, the patch is looking great in the patch we are in, and best of all... it's not super busy right now. Come enjoy a relaxing stroll down Strawberry Lane, fill your bucket, and maybe conduct a little quality control testing along the way. We all know a few berries accidentally make it from the row to your mouth before they ever reach the bucket. We won't tell. 🤣

🍓🍓 Kohler Farm Update – Tuesday, June 16th 🍓🍓

Well...Monday was MANIC MONDAY at Kohler Farm! 😳

I don't know if everyone called in sick to work, skipped laundry day, or just woke up with an uncontrollable craving for strawberry shortcake, but you all showed up in full force! We are beyond thankful for the incredible support, even if it meant we temporarily had to close the gate because we literally ran out of rows to put people on. That's a problem we never like having, but Mother Nature only ripens berries so fast.

🍓 Tuesday's Plan:

⏰ U-Pick: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM ONLY! $3 quart. GATE CLOSES EARLY! AND STILL NO LANDLINE PHONE 😭

We're keeping it a wild but short day so these patches can catch their breath and ripen up a little more. Remember, we are now into the second picking of many of these plants. And yes...that means the berries are generally smaller. That's just Mother Nature doing her thing. If I knew how to grow every berry the size of a baseball, trust me, I'd be retired and living in a mansion with gold-plated jam jars. 😂

That's simply the life of a berry farmer. Some days the berries cooperate, some days the weather cooperates, and some days 500 of my newest best friends arrive at the exact same time. 🤣

🍓☎️ Kohler Farm Update – Monday, June 15th! ☎️🍓

If there was ever a terrible time for our landline to decide it needed a vacation, this would be it. 🤦‍♀️ The phone is STILL down, and the current ETA for a technician to make it to the farm is Thursday. Apparently our old farmhouse heard we were busy and decided to add a little character development to our lives.

The good news? 🍓 The berries listened better than the phone lines! They made some great progress over the weekend, and the gate swings open at 7:00 AM for U-PICK! The Jewel berries are looking beautiful and are looking to get down and jam with you.

Pre-Picked berries will be available around 9:00 AM while supplies last. Please remember that pre-picked is NOT guaranteed all day, as we are primarily a U-PICK operation and demand can wipe them out quickly.
