Dear Loyal Customers as we get ready for this beautification project we ask you to remember that the Jerome businesses on Main Street will remain open which means we need you to continue your routines of having a meal or any other service that you may visit during the week. We have our parking that will remain available and parking will be available on the side streets. We appreciate your business more than you know. Thank you.
The Main Street and South Lincoln Downtown Improvement project is a go in July. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving our existing infrastructure and to creating a more vibrant and attractive community that benefits everyone—residents, visitors, local businesses, and property owners.
Construction begins on Monday, July 6. The inside lanes of Main Street will be closed from Birch to Buchanan. This will allow them to start removing the median. One lane of traffic will continue in each direction.
The project will include Main Street from Birch to Buchanan and Main to Avenue A on South Lincoln.
Business will remain open. Please continue to support them! Visit our Storymap at www.cityofjerome.org for information on access and parking.
1. We understand your frustration with more construction. Please bear with us. The end result will be worth it.
2. The improvements are funded through the Urban Renewal Agency and the Idaho Transportation Department. (It is indeed a fact that ITD owns Main Street (HWY 25)).
3. For more information and updates, visit our website.
An informational Public Meeting will be held to provide a chance for businesses and citizens to ask questions of staff and the contractor. We will have more information on phasing, road closures, and business access.
