For the first time ever, the 4 oldest Cochin Bantam Babies got to free range with the big flock. They didn’t venture too far away from the run, but it was fun to watch them stretch their legs and scratch in the yard!

Today, we stepped away from the daily farm duties at Feather Ridge Farm to pay our respects at Amelia Veterans Cemetery. Between feeding the flock, gathering eggs, and tending to the animals, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the rhythm of farm life. But today was a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy every single day were paid for by the brave men and women who gave everything for this country.

Walking through the cemetery was humbling. So many lives sacrificed so that families like ours can live freely, work the land we love, and build the life we have today.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who never made it home. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
