Today, we stepped away from the daily farm duties at Feather Ridge Farm to pay our respects at Amelia Veterans Cemetery. Between feeding the flock, gathering eggs, and tending to the animals, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the rhythm of farm life. But today was a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy every single day were paid for by the brave men and women who gave everything for this country.

Walking through the cemetery was humbling. So many lives sacrificed so that families like ours can live freely, work the land we love, and build the life we have today.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who never made it home. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Today Feather Ridge Farm will pause in reverence, honoring the courageous soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the liberties we cherish. We acknowledge that our gratitude can never fully repay them or their loved ones, but we will begin by paying tribute to their selfless acts. We recognize that a simple 'thank you' will forever be inadequate. Today far exceeds the threshold of summer; it rises above the joy of cookouts and beachside escapades. Its very essence lies in commemorating the profound sacrifices that have paved the way for our freedom to gather and celebrate. Won’t you join us in a Moment to Remember during your busy day?

I adore a majestic chicken. And here at Feather Ridge Farm, they don’t get much more magnificent than our Buff girl Betsy. She’s the epitome of elegance. She’s the most stunning of girls. We cherish her so much and are so grateful she is here on our farm!
