Baby is 10 days old and thriving! To say that Steph is in love is an understatement (surprise, surprise 😄)
Drum Roll Please: Baby Girls name is Ash ❤️
Blue is the best momma. She may be stubborn and rather grumpy at times, but she has completely checked every box of a perfect mom.
Tomorrow they leave the shop and head out to their spot in the barn/pasture. Since someone (Steph) had to have these blue roans whom were already bred and due to calve in winter, it was a given we'd have a baby during the coldest stretch of winter. Carl's shop turned into a calving pen. However, it's warming up, Ash and Blue are healthy and doing great and now it's time to join the herd.
Blue is attached to our other blue roan so she will be happy to be placed back in birthing pen (stall and pasture) with her friend.
Our next calf (our other blue roan) is due March 10th. Followed by a beautiful shorthorn heifer who is due in April.
Side note: Momma technically didn't get a new name .... so we call her Blue (she's a blue roan so it works)
