Shaw Ranch is a Colorado Centennial ranch, homesteaded and operated by the same family since 1887. We've recieved the GridMaster Award from the Red Angus Association for our high beef quality. We aim for a 1250 lb finished steer, pastured and given a light grain finishing ration for 90 days. Marbling is bred into our moderate frame sized beef; you will recieve tender, flavorful, well marbled beef

that is not over fat. Our beef is available in full, half or quarters and custom processed to your liking.

After about a month, we like to move off a pasture and on to new and give the grass a rest. Over grazing is something we avoid if we can and this year we've had enough rain ~ mostly.

July came and went in a flurry. We branded calves, turned in bulls, and had a nice cool morning today to move a few pairs. These calves are growing! The pastures this summer are mixed .. we had good rain in some, and others are looking pretty sad. On to summer and fall grazing, and hoping for more cool days

Ahhhhh. A ride after a nice rain shower. Smelled so good. It was a better week; we found a twin and brought home a heifer whose momma just didn't have milk so 2 bucket babies to feed. On to another week!
