Big day on the farm! 🐮❤️
The kids helped work the calves Sunday and did such an awesome job. Louise and Ruthie were the stars of the show, and these smiles say it all! Meredith learned how to tag and Danny was running them up to the chute. Grateful for hardworking kiddos, healthy animals, and moments like these. 🧡🌾 and as always a shoutout to Arrowquip for allowing us to make this a family affair and keeping us all safe!

Ole Glory was flying high today! Happy 4th from our farm to your family! We are stacking hay for the winter to make sure your cows and happy and tasty!!

So busy the last few weeks that I haven’t even posted that we are done with babies! One even forgot what side of the fence she belongs on! We scraped out pens today and finished the day with a bonfire watching our last years babies enjoying their green grass. Nothing beats a summer night on the farm. Happy Friday!

Meet 007(ear tag number) also known as “Vladdy”. I tagged this little guy because he might get to stay a bull. He isn’t but could be a registered angus. He comes from from some amazing blood lines. His sweet mama is one of our favorite girls. Elsa comes from our late neighbor “Mr. Duane’s old heard that was put together over his lifetime. Very excited to see it continue!

Our sweet Louise was born last night between 11pm and 2am. This sweetheart is already causing my blood pressure to rise. In this picture she is on the wrong side of the fence. She tipped the scales at 72lbs. She is too pretty to be mad at so she gets a pass!

I’m a little behind but that’s life during calving season!
“Gordie Howe” (white bull calf) was born Monday at 1:15pm. Weighs in at 78lbs. Just this afternoon at 2:50pm “Hardy” (black bull calf) was born tipping the scales at 85lbs. Both are doing great and ready for more friends!

Welcome to the farm “Wayne Gretzky” he was born at 5:46pm as we headed to hockey practice so Danny asked if he could name him after the “great one”! He needed a little help getting going because Ma is getting older and her utters are getting harder for them to latch. We just tucked them into a nice warm bed of straw. Sleep tight Wayne!

We had a great opportunity yesterday to tour Ebels meat processing facility. Some of the kids from the Otsego County Fair and Otsego Coutny Youth Livestock Program got to see first hand how animals are handled from beginning to end. Mr. Mark Ebel was our tour guide and did a fantastic job showing how the process works. I have always been very happy with the service they provided to our customers, but getting to see it first hand makes it that much better. Truly an amazing facility and so professional. I know the time and effort we put into raising our beef and I’m glad to see that same passion and commitment goes into processing them.
