We are often asked "What does Siboney mean?" The history of the world, or our humble w**ery, cannot be explained in a single post. Indeed, Siboney Cellars is connected to history through many origin stories... Today seems fitting to let this passage explain the factual basis of the original meaning of Siboney. In "Admiral of the Ocean Sea", the book written by Morison (and published in 1942), the author retraces - or attempts to sail - the 4 voyages of Columbus into the "new world", following the navigational routes and correlating the logs and letters from the crew as they approach Hispañola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) and Cuba. One paragraph catches our attention, highlighted in the picture below. We suggest you enjoy an original Cuban Sandwich and light a great cigar - and a very long one - and settle into your favorite history book on our terrace.
