We are pleased to welcome you to our home so that we can offer you some good, down-home Southern cooking! There's something here for everyone.

Grandpa Nathan was the first of a long line of entrepreneurial Calhouns. He settled in the farming town of Monterey, Louisiana, in 1846. Ever the visionary, he built the area's first grist mill to process his bountiful harvest of corn, eliminating the need for dependence on out-of-town mills. Over a hundred years later, Grandson Nathan Patrick Calhoun conceived his idea from Grandpa Nathan. He rea

soned that Southern families used hundreds of pounds of cornmeal to bake and fry with each year. Why should they buy from far-away mills when a much better stone-ground product could be produced right on the farm? Patrick formulated his family's favorite recipes using stone-ground cornmeal with an eye for the future and a remembrance of the past. This led to a full line of desserts such as peach cobbler and pecan pie, cornbreads, and coating mixes. Today, Calhoun Bend Mill ships its products nationwide. We are proud to acknowledge the Lord as the Owner of our company. No decisions are made without first consulting Him. Because of His guidance, we have been blessed bountifully. 🇺🇸 Red, White, and Blue Salad 🇺🇸

Ingredients:
🥗 spinach and arugula mix
🥗 blueberries
🥗 strawberries
🥗 goat cheese
🥗 2 chicken thighs
🥗 1 box of Calhoun Bend Mill Awesome Onion Crispy Fry Mix
🥗 cooking oil
🥗 balsamic dressing

Directions:
🥗 follow the box instructions to make the fried chicken thighs. Cut into small slices and set aside to cool.
🥗 combine the arugula, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, and goat cheese
🥗 pour cooled chicken on top and mix with your favorite balsamic!
🥗 Serve and Enjoy! 🤩😁

🗓️ Reminder to celebrate the women in your life that are moms this Mother’s Day (on Sunday, May 10)! For those that have a mother’s heart, long to be a mother, are a spiritual mother, we see you too and are so thankful for the love put in your hearts! 🌟🐵 Wookie Apple Cakes 🐵🌟

Ingredients:
🐵 1 1/2 cups of sugar
🐵 1/2 cup of brown sugar
🐵 1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil
🐵 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
🐵 3 eggs
🐵 3 cups of flour
🐵 1 teaspoon of baking soda
🐵 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
🐵 1 teaspoon of salt
🐵 3-4 apples

Crumble topping:
🐵 1 box of Calhoun Bend Mill Apple Crisp Mix
🐵 1/2 stick of butter

Glaze:
🐵 2 cups of powdered sugar
🐵 3-4 tablespoons of whole milk
🐵 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:
🐵 Using a mixer, beat the sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs and oil together.
🐵 Stir in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
🐵 Fold in the pealed, cored, and cubed apples.
🐵 Combine the Calhoun Bend Mill Apple Crisp Mix with 1/2 stick of melted butter and combine until crumbly. Using about half of the crumble mix, place on the bottom of a greased muffin pan (about and inch)
🐵 Pour the batter over the crumble mix
🐵 Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean
🐵 Combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze
🐵 Once the cakes are cooled pour the rest of the crumble topping over the cakes and pour the glaze over top!
🐵 ENJOY 🤩
