High Meadow Farm We are a small family farm in Wisconsin. http://highmeadowfarmcsa.com/ We raise pastured, organic poultry and eggs.

We offer farm-fresh vegetables, soy-free and pasture-raised eggs, pasture-raised lamb, sheep, and wool products, through our online store. High Meadow Farm is a certified organic, sustainable family farm and CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We love including our friends, members and our community in the daily and seasonal happenings on the farm and we love to grow and teach about preparing and enjoying delicious, fresh organic varieties of produce.

I've been trying to work through my fleeces (waaay too many) before shearing day comes up in March 😆. This fleece is not quite dry yet, but these curls have me feeling like Christmas! Incredibly soft, BFL X lambs wool from our boy 'Steamboat'.
Next up will be his sister Loretta's fleece that is also pictured. The yellow coloring is from the lanolin in the wool and scouring it (washing) will remove that so that it is clean, soft, and ready to create with. Just look at those gorgeous wavy locks.🐑💖💖

Gratitude, adoration, love...Yes, Mike is picking apples, and Sugar happily accepted one, but she ran all the way across the field just to be with him. I do believe that it's because has saved her life a few times. Once in 2020 and again in 2021. Sugar likes me, too, but she LOVES Mike.
I'm convinced that sheep remember all the good things. They are amazing creatures. I'm very grateful to have them in my life.
Oh, and the Golden Delicious apples are pretty awesome this year, too! We are nearly out of Honeycrisp, but just look at those Golden beauties! (Mac's are also plentiful this year.)

I just remembered that I wasn't going to plant as many cherry tomatoes this year. Too late. Oh well. 🍅

The ewes returned to the barn today to reunite with the weaned lambs, get some hugs from me, and then head up over the hill to their new pastures. The lambs are so big now. The moms are completely over motherhood.
We have too many sheep for overwintering, and so many gorgeous fleeces on all of them. I am very pleased with how our fleeces have developed over the years. I hope some of these girls will find fiber loving homes soon!

What a beautiful day's end with this delicious farm fare that was ready in just 20 minutes! mouth-watering, and perfectly cooked Frenched rack of lamb, and my new favorite potato combo with 'Peter Wilcox 'and 'Dakota Ruby ' potatoes. SO good! If you don't think you like lamb, you should give grassfed a try.
I will have many new lamb options posted by tomorrow night, and we have several varieties of yummy potatoes available as well.

Our potato field is slowly turning into a potato "patch", but we do love growing potatoes. We also love using our old horse-drawn potato planter to get them in the ground at just the right depth and perfectly hilled.

Our mamas are heading out to the front pastures with their lambs this morning. The goofball at the end has been lit up like this all week. He is a late 2025 lamb and he's become quite the entertainer.

A day in the life of our sheep. They enjoyed grazing in the orchard and playing in the wooded paddock that they have to pass through. The lambs are growing up so fast and already are so big! The first lambs are already a month old.
