We are a small family farm in Wisconsin. http://highmeadowfarmcsa.com/ We raise pastured, organic poultry and eggs.

We offer farm-fresh vegetables, soy-free and pasture-raised eggs, pasture-raised lamb, sheep, and wool products, through our online store. High Meadow Farm is a certified organic, sustainable family farm and CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We love including our friends, members and our community in the daily and seasonal happenings on the farm and we love to grow and teach about preparing and enjoying delicious, fresh organic varieties of produce.

The ewes returned to the barn today to reunite with the weaned lambs, get some hugs from me, and then head up over the hill to their new pastures. The lambs are so big now. The moms are completely over motherhood.
We have too many sheep for overwintering, and so many gorgeous fleeces on all of them. I am very pleased with how our fleeces have developed over the years. I hope some of these girls will find fiber loving homes soon!

What a beautiful day's end with this delicious farm fare that was ready in just 20 minutes! mouth-watering, and perfectly cooked Frenched rack of lamb, and my new favorite potato combo with 'Peter Wilcox 'and 'Dakota Ruby ' potatoes. SO good! If you don't think you like lamb, you should give grassfed a try.
I will have many new lamb options posted by tomorrow night, and we have several varieties of yummy potatoes available as well.

Our potato field is slowly turning into a potato "patch", but we do love growing potatoes. We also love using our old horse-drawn potato planter to get them in the ground at just the right depth and perfectly hilled.

Our mamas are heading out to the front pastures with their lambs this morning. The goofball at the end has been lit up like this all week. He is a late 2025 lamb and he's become quite the entertainer.

A day in the life of our sheep. They enjoyed grazing in the orchard and playing in the wooded paddock that they have to pass through. The lambs are growing up so fast and already are so big! The first lambs are already a month old.

And just like that, we are done with lambing for 2026!
Five sets of triplets, nine sets of twins, and two singles lambs from 16 mamas. We are feeling very fortunate on many levels.
One mom refused to love one of her cute babies and he quickly found a loving home with AJ. Gwen finally had three beautiful lambs and they have all been sold and moved to a wonderful new home with Katherine and Hans.💖. All lambs are healthy and all came diving into the world toes and nose first!
Tonight the barn doors and windows can stay open, the lights are off, and one shepherd is heading back to her bed for a good long sleep.
Can anyone guess how many lambs we still have out there tonight? (Really. I'm too tired to count sheep anymore) 😴

We are so close to wrapping up our 2026 lambing. We are just waiting on Gwen, who was sporting a very prominent baby bump this morning, yet she was in far better spirits than the last few days. Sugar and I (yes, it took both of us!) extracted her 20 POUND LAMB (weighed after he had a drink) at 1:30 am Friday, and they joined the flock this morning. Her lamb is already as big or bigger than any of the other lambs. Sugar and I are very proud of him and happy that he made it out!
The moms have been calming down and enjoying some adult time in the mornings while the lambs play, and we have an incorrigible milk stealing trouble maker in our midst. See if you can spot him!

I loved today's beautiful spring morning. I had a good night's sleep, a pretty walk to the sheep barn for coffee with the ladies, lamb's ear snuggles, and some tuckered out lambs at the end of the day. They are growing so fast! I'm hoping the pastures grow fast, too!
