Wholly Cow! The Kansas State Fair actually just ended! We were so happy to be a part of From the Land of Kansas Kansas State Fair booth this year in the Pride of Kansas building. Many of you stopped by and picked up one of our tallow lip balms or body butters for the first time! Thank you for supporting our small Kansas business. We hope to see you again soon.

Wholly Cow! Twenty years ago-I told my husband I would move out to western, Kansas on the ranch to the middle of nowhere as long as he agreed to growing a pumpkin patch with me! Guess who won??
Yep, we had a pick your own patch for five years, but only had success two out of the five. One year we got hailed out, one year they were sprayed on accident and killed, and the third year, well I can’t remember, but whatever happened wasn’t good! So yes, we have had our fair share of business venture struggles and failures. However, the two years we were successful, created some of the best memories for our family. Our kids were 5, 3, and infant at the time. Not sure how we did it, but we did. I will always have a love for pumpkins. These candles are a tribute to our Pumpkin Prairie pumpkin patch. It is kind to the MCAS autoimmune I struggle with. My body doesn’t react to it. Our family is always on the search for cleaner, healthier products. This is one of them. Launching soon!

Wholly Cow! Cranking out new Fall & Christmas candles this week. I etched each design with a little machine and match the perfect scent to it. This one is my favorite-Christmas Cabin. It’s what you expect Christmas to smell like. As a small business owner, it’s also one of my favorite things to make when I’m stressed. Creativity works as an outlet for me, although creating more work, it’s one way I relieve stress, plus the scents of the candles calm my anxious mind. Custom Christmas orders are coming in and I am loving our new Holiday designs and vessels. Order online.

Wholly Cow! We can learn a lot from God’s creation. So cool how things that present to be a problem turn out to be one of God’s plans to correcting a w**d problem. Our goal is to pay attention to nature and to embrace it and work along with it, instead of against it. We still have a lot to learn. Many times production gets in the way of nature’s perfection. As farmers and ranchers we do this delicate dance. How can we produce the world’s food chain efficiently without going broke and embrace nature and work with its processes and systems? We can be curious, keep asking questions, listen, pay attention, and stop….maybe instead of smelling the roses, pay attention to the insects and w**ds. Instead of looking at them as a farmer’s nemesis, accept them as a part of the ecosystem.
