She’s such a good momma! These babies are learning to graze and forage safely, which not only allows them to live more naturally, but also cuts down on the feed bill! Anywhere we can embrace foraging, we do!

I added some electric around our duck tractor to better protect momma and he babies, since our poultry betting is currently being used for the chickens and this springs chicks.

Solar is a great option because it allows me to move and tractor this clutch around safely and helps keep them protected against predators.

First batch of muscovy ducklings hatched today!
Momma is being very protective, and doing a great job. They will move to the tractor in a few days, once we know everyone has hatched. At the moment, she won’t let me look under and check, but we have at least 5 hatched already.

How many do you think will hatch??
