Cinnamon Apple Harvest Granola is our first Small Batch flavor, and it is on the site now.

A lot of granola gets its crunch from almonds, pecans or coconut. This one gets it from seeds: gluten-free rolled oats, sunflower kernels, pumpkin kernels and brown flax seeds, baked with honey into clusters and mixed with apple cubes coated in cinnamon sugar. It is free from the top 14 allergens, peanuts and tree nuts included.

We made one batch for the holiday season, and it is sold only on mygerbs.com.

Most people buy pumpkin seeds for one thing and never think about the other two. It is the same seed doing all three.

The bowl: in-shell, cracked as you go, lasts a whole afternoon. The topping: pepitas, shell already off, straight onto the soup or the salad. The bake: ground seed meal, into the bread and the muffins.

Heads up if you are in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas: Nature's Own Hawaiian Bread, in 20 oz loaves and 40 oz two-packs, has been recalled for milk that was not declared on the label, with best-by dates from October 8 through October 18. No illnesses have been reported, and affected loaves can be returned to the store for a refund. Undeclared allergens are the reason we make everything in a facility free of the top 14, so there is no label surprise waiting. Does anyone else still re-read labels on products you have bought for years?
