Well folks, spring is having trouble chasing away winter. It's now the end of April, we're finishing or last batch of maple syrup, two weeks later than usual, and we still haven't planted outside!! We should be done with potatoes and onions and planting other cold tolerant crops. Instead the cold and wet conditions have made planting outside impossible, but the greenhouses and basement are full of plants ready to go. Uncertain spring weather is why we start our CSA in July!!

It has been a busy week at the farm. We put taps in 60 Maple trees and some were dripping. We drove to Cadot Wisconsin to purchase bottles for our maple syrup and stopped at Jordan Seeds to buy plastic flats for starting seeds. The price for the bottles was normal but the plastic price was double from last year! II hope all of our expenses do not double! Here are photos of tapping a Maple tree and of Ginger and Molly. I am very pleased to announce the arrival of the new member of our family, Ginger, a girl Labrador puppy! She is light yellow so she matches her big sister Molly who is black. Here is a photo of Ginger. Have a good day!
Pickle Making Day is one of our CSA special events. And what a bonus! CSA members come to the farm and we supply everything needed to make wonderful brine pickles. They are ready to eat in 2 weeks, yum! We also take folks for a hay wagon ride touring the farm. When you leave you take home the pickles you made and the knowledge of how to make them!

Today spring seems far away- it's cold and snowy with blustering winds. But we're just weeks away from maple syrup flowing, followed by collecting, boiling, filtering and finally bottling natures pure maple syrup. YUM! While we are making syrup, we will be pruning apple trees and preparing the trees for a successful season.

Last summer when my dog Ginger died,I did a post asking for help to find a Lab puppy. It worked, We were contacted to a family that had a litter of wonderful puppies. We drove down to Zumbro Falls and came home with Molly, a female black lab. I am asking for that help again, I am looking for a yellow lab pup and if anyone knows of someone with a litter let me know. Here are some photos of Molly.Thank you.

We are excited to officially announce the 2021 opening of our roadside stand! We are actively working on some upgrades to the stand and around it, including our new farm sign!

Today's most popular items were Truly, Marlboro packages and Busch Lattes! It's always interesting to see what items find their ways into the ditch most commonly.

Our roadside stand is still open! Featuring nine varieties of squash, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkins and more! We update the supply daily so make sure to stop by often to make sure you don't miss out on anything!
Although fall has arrived and frost has hit, that doesn't mean our roadside stand is done! We still have peppers, cold crops and more!

This year has been one for the books! We have had some of the best weather we could have asked for and that has allowed us to have one of our best growing seasons in recent years!
As fall approaches remember that means the farm season is comnig to an end. The frost is fast appraoching and that will most likely mean the end to much of the fresh produce. We have tomatoes and peppers in the stand, but the end is near for them!
With the fall weather on the approach we will be having lots of apples, pumpkins, squash, cold crops, gords and more! So make sure to stop by the stand for a new supply of goodies and feel free to reach out to us with specific questions! :)
Fall out at the farm is the BEST! The fall colors are in full swing and the pumpkins/ornamentals are looking beautiful! We've been busy harvesting all the fall crops before temps start dipping below zero.
We'll have a beautiful harvest that you can pick up at the roadside stand, special order, or at the Prior Lake/Minneapolis farmers markets!
We love fall because it means the farm season is winding down, colors are beautiful and it means it's almost time for a roadtrip out west!

We have been very busy ,hoeing planting, tilling and picking. Our crops look good! We picked our first tomatoes this week. Soon they will be ripening fast. We could use a little rain to really get things growing fast. These are photos of tomato, pepper and melon fields. Have a great weekend!
