**DETOUR INFORMATION FOR OUR UPCOMING RED PINE HORSE SHOW**
Use 169 South to get to Jordan, and take Exit for 21- Broadway St N. Follow to the stop light and go left to come up the hill on 282. There is a detour pictured below for coming up the hill.
OR
Exit at Marschall road in Shakopee, follow straight to 13 south. Turn right on 205th street (the town of Lydia) and follow until it T’s at 282. Right on 282 and you will come up the farm.
Do not go into town by the gas stations as the bridge is closed and you cannot get through. 282 will have road closure signs, but you will be able to get through to the farm.
Do NOT try to come down 282 from Shakopee, you must use 169 to Jordan to get here!
If you are coming from north 169, exit on syndicate street, just past the gas stations and downtown Jordan. Follow that to 282 and it will take you straight up the hill to the detour at the top.
Please do not use our back driveway, you should come up the driveway with gates!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Still looking for Christmas presents for your little elves? Give the gift of fun this year with a GGEC Summer Equine Camp Gift Card!

Golden Gate Equestrian Center was founded in 2016 with the mission of becoming the premier equine training center in Minnesota. It was the brainchild of Lauren Wood, a professional horse trainer and equestrian, and her motley crew of former professional athletes including brothers Jeff Tow-Arnett and Nick Tow-Arnett, both Minnesota natives who played football for the U of M and in the NFL, and Nick’s wife Jessy, a former professional volleyball player.
Together, they took a neglected plot of farm land and built a horse lover’s dream facility. The property spans 60 acres and includes 28 deluxe indoor stalls, two Olympic size riding arenas, and 30 acres of pasture for their horses to openly graze. “When we were dreaming of the property, we envisioned a five-star facility that combines the beauty of Kentucky horse country with a premier sports training center” says Lauren Wood.
They are also a home to former pro-athletes of the four-legged kind including “Nowhere to Hide” a Thoroughbred who raced in the 2009 Kentucky Derby. Under Lauren Wood’s instruction, both former athletes, Jeff and Nowhere to Hide, went on to their second careers of becoming competitive jumpers in the local and national circuits.
Owner and head trainer, Lauren obtained her degree in Agricultural Business from University of Wisconsin –River Falls and is currently head coach of the Gustavus Adolphus College’s IHSA Hunt Seat Team. She has a patient and tactical approach to training which is derived from her 15 years’ experience as an equestrian. Lauren is also very successful in training green horses and restarting horses off the track. All of her premier hunter and jumper horses have been self-trained and have competed in the local and national circuits, most recently in Venice, Florida in February 2020.
The Golden Gate Equestrian family remains committed to bringing new faces to the equestrian sport and their sprawling farm. Jeff highlights, “We have built a place that we hope not only brings in folks that are new to the sport but also those who are dreaming of advancing their riding to a national level. We believe that our facility and approach to training sets our riders up success and sets us apart from your traditional riding operation.”
