As a farmer, who diligently strives to assess the climate in making a plan when to plant and how to manage crops, i suggest a new lesson for you to consider. There is great diversity in creation in our natural world. Learning that diversity is a way to survive through the many unknowns and variety of conditions and challenges that will manifest, much to our education....:)
It is not always good to bloom early. Often that which blooms early does not yield unless there is no challenge in terms of pests, disease or adverse weather. Some varieties have exceptionally developed traits to handle those challenges and, with a little help, thrive regardless. The Lord knows us. He truly is a master of our care. His preparation gives Him perfect understanding and infinite power in the work He does for us. Grafting things and planting things together is an art. It is wonderous to learn the principles that apply to it. One thing we can all relate to is our need for such care, and the love of our Lord for us.

The potatoes are a success, thanks to the good weather for harvest and the great people who have done this work! The beets have financed the expenses since late July and carrots are pulling their weight the last couple of weeks, pun intended;)

The next few weeks will reveal how well the carrots and beets succeeded. The investment was not adequate to reach the hoped for yields but the weather is providing bonus growth that is not usual for this late. Without having enough to cover the labor costs the harvest is necessarily slow, but the weather has thus far saved the crop value that has been accomplished. It is breathtakingly dramatic to live this lifestyle. I yearn for the crop and it's potential and strive to do whatever it takes to accomplish what is necessary. I feel very grateful for these good things that are coming out of the ground like little miracles, every one. Thank you everyone!
