Finally found a feed store in Landers that had an electrolyte and nutrient powder for the chicks... Lord, I had to get out the calculator to mix the solution properly... An hour later, the chicks were calm and resting without pecking wars...🐓🐓🐓

This is our new brooder pen for chicks that is not the one on-line for $193.00. I paid $16.00, additional shower curtain...

This is our new brooder pen for chicks that is not the one on-line for $193.00. I paid $16.00, additional shower curtain as waterproof liner, and utilized the dog fencing for support... Doubled size for chicks with $20.00 cost.... Sweet!!!

Finally some free time with help to transfer chicks into larger brooder pen. They stood still in a group as if "Wow, nice crib daddies"... Then off into their hierarchy packs... Next surprise will be chick version of roosting poles. Wish me luck!!! LOL

Rain and fog gone, so building the second wall panel for outdoor run... A bit more expensive, but we need the chicks protected from predators~~~ coyotes, bobcats, and snakes... Not to forget hawks and eagles...

We are entering two weeks with chicks. Amazing to see the growth and feathers popping on wings and tail feathers appearing. Chicks are now at the stage of jumping...

Thought I would be able to set up three panels for outdoor run today, but had some hardware problems and wire fencing was a trip to tack down securely. One panel done and start again tomorrow... A learning experience!!!

Our dog wants to inspect lumber framing for part of the chicken run... Making sure all is okay...
