Hey everyone, I just wanted to make an announcement today. Darla and I have officially moved into a little barndo even though we are not finished with it. I personally feel that God is calling me to do something different as Darla and I move into this new season in our life. This being said I am going to start phasing out the Grace at Rusty Acres page over the next few weeks. Now for those of you whom regularly follow this page we’re not leaving you high and dry 😊. I have opened a new Facebook profile called Blessings from the Barndo, where I will be posting scriptures, photos of our farm and other places, stories and things that I find to be inspiring 😊. If your interested in following our new page on Facebook just look up Blessings From The Barndo and send us a friend request. This will not be a page filled with drama like so many others, but more of what we hope to be an uplifting page. A page that you can go to and know that God loves you. We simply want to be a beacon of light for God’s love for others. Right now this new page is in its fledgling phase, with hopes of reaching a larger audience. We simply want to share God’s love and blessings with others and if we brighten your day and put a smile on your face during the process well then that’s a bonus. I hope to hear from you soon.

The goats trying to figure out what kind of animal Ariel is 😂

Praising God for the much needed rain 🌧. We have received over 5” of rain since it rolled in late yesterday afternoon. Darla said the stock tank is now overflowing, thank you Jesus. It just amazes me how resilient that God made the grass, just a few short days back it was brown and crunched under your feet. Now since the rain 🌧 has moved in you can see green grass coming up all around our little farm. God’s creations are truly amazing. Blessings Jon

Peaceful afternoon here at Grace at Rusty Acres watching the cleanup crew doing their thing. I did a little tree trimming earlier this afternoon, then took the limbs down to the back pasture. As soon as the goats 🐐 saw me at the gate with trees hanging out of the F150, they couldn’t get there fast enough 😂. The goats love tree leaves and we’re pulling the limbs out of the F150 before I could get it parked. It didn’t surprise me that Donkey joined in on the party as he is a hustler when it comes to food. Now the fact that our horse Dakota joined in was a surprise, as she tends to be a little pickier about things 🤔. I’m guessing the fact that there is a shortage of green grass around here put her in the mood for a salad 🥗. Once I got the rest of the limbs drug out of the pickup I found a tree to park under. Now even though it’s around a 100 degrees out here today, we almost always have some kind of breeze blowing. Today was no exception, so if you find the right spot you benefit from the shade and the breeze. So now that I have found me a cooler spot to park, I just kind of sat back and took things in for a while. Just sat back and listened to the gentle breeze blowing through the trees joined by the sound of the neighborhood cicada’s doing their thing. Just sitting back and thinking how blessed Darla and I are that God entrusted us with this little place we call Grace at Rusty Acres 😊. Although it’s not quite the same as actually watching it in real-time here’s a short video of the sights and sounds I was blessed with this summer afternoon.
