It’s been many years since I cut flowers and put them on a cart and walked around the farm. My golf cart is in the shop and honestly , I don’t know how I’ve done life without it so many years I’m about to walk out to the back of the property, which is I feel like it’s a quarter of a mile back there to pick figs .  I’m hoping this is the last day without my golf cart lol

Just in case you think we take the late fall and winter off .

This is what will go into the ground from October through January ! 😬

10,200 plugs
175 peonies
8-1,000 various bulbs
1700 ranunculus
4,000 seedlings

But first , I’ll be taking a camping trip to regroup and refresh myself . Not to worry that won’t happen for another month.

Oh yeah , the hybrid asters are ready and they look so scrumptious ! Luckily that ground hog that moved in hasn’t seen them yet ! I saw him in my figs last night ! He’s got to go !

We’re looking for some part time farm
Help during the week , Monday , Tuesday or Friday up to 4-5 hours each day Doesn’t have to be 3 days it can be two and we can make the hours longer if need be . If you know of a responsible person looking for some extra cash . Send them my way . I’m looking for female helpers but will be open to a young man also as long as you know you’ll be weeding and processing flowers . Message me for details . Days and hours can be flexible .

Sometimes you just get blessed with some pretty cool volunteers !

Chinese lanterns are in the dahlia beds and I’m not sure if I want to keep them and let them grow there or move them to their own section they are happy there . I cut these that were laying in the walk path, but they will turn orange when their ready ! And they look pretty cool green also .

And some of my prettiest celosia is from a volunteer , and these volunteers grow taller than I am !

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here . We are behind the scenes cleaning rows and transforming the high tunnels to permanent crops ! We are finally finished w hightunnel 3 . It’s completely converted to permanent crops , mostly eucalyptus varieties . It’s not easy flipping beds and replanting inside a high tunnel so we went w permanent crops after a few years of trial and error of what grows better inside than out . We have one row left in tunnel three that I’ve decided grows better outside but that will wait until spring time to move when the plants are smaller to transplant !

We’ve been hard at work and have completed our weeding for the summer . Flowers are few this time of year since we have had so many 100 plus degree days w no rain .

But fall is upon us and things will change ! They always do .

We will have several new variety of eucalyptus this coming fall and mostly next season !
