Last week's post didn't age well 😅
No ribbons today, but we didn't come last in every class, and the weather was much more preferable today!

Our milkers didn't have a good day today at the GSDGA Spring Fling Show, but our junior doe Bramble Creek AintHere4aLngTme did! First place in a large competitive class of 2-4 month olds, following it up with Reserved Junior Champion! This is just the beginning, watch out Maryland, we're coming for our dry leg next weekend! Hopefully the weather is a bit more favorable!

Introducing a highly anticipated addition!

Another good ol' boy from Texas,
Silverfire Malibu Moon (pending)!

For those who are here just for cute baby goat pictures, you can keep scrolling now, it's about to get a bit nerdy 😅

Moon is out of GCH Silverfire Salt and Lime 3*M, 6th place 5/6 yo at 2025 Nationals. He is sired by CA Blackberry's TB Lunar, son of the one and only GCH Big_HoofHearted RB Luna 2*M, the 2022 National Grand Champion and Best Udder, and 2024 National Reserve Grand Champion and Reserve Best Udder. It could just be because she's plain brown (iykyk😂), but I am thrilled to have Luna's genetics in the herd. With Lime's fabulous depth of body and width, and Lunar's lovely general appearance and dairy strength, I'm looking forward to Moon's contributions to the herd!

And before anyone calls me out for buying another goat after I said I'm not buying anymore, herdsires don't count 😉

It's been 24 hours and I'm still amazed at the sizes of these kids out of Baby 🤯
The massive doeling and buckling have to be close to 15 lbs each (I misplaced my scale 🙈), while their sister is dwarfed in comparison at half that size. Poor Baby was carrying around almost 40 extra pounds 😵‍💫
Anyway, the buckling and a doeling are available! It's easy to tell who their sire is 😏

Round 1 of kidding is done, after a bit of a rough start we're left with 3 healthy babies!
They're being dam raised, as I wasn't planning on showing these does, but after doing some math they'll be weaned before show season starts, so we'll see what happens 😅

Round 2 starts March 1st, let's hope for warmer weather and better luck 🤞🤞
