Youngsters in Training!

It’s a battle of the up-and-comers at Escondido Ranch

First up, two young Nyala testing their strength and practicing those sparring skills… then the young Roan antelope step in for their own training session!

They may not be the biggest animals on the ranch yet, but they’re already learning the moves they’ll need when they grow into mature males.

Now we want to know… 👀

If a young Nyala and a young Roan had to square off, who would you put your money on?

Drop your pick in the comments! ⬇️

First up, two Blackbuck males settle the score. Then, two Fallow bucks throw down in an impressive display of strength and determination.

Now for the real question...

If a mature Blackbuck and a mature Fallow buck had to square off, who do you think would come out on top?

Tonight I had over 30 animals in the food plot at tree. The largest was this monster non typical axis buck in velvet! This spotted fallow was the only one not feeding before the cold front.

A Huge Congratulations to Justin! 🏹

We’re absolutely overjoyed to share that Justin harvested this incredible Axis buck with his bow! Justin has been a longtime hunter and great friend of Escondido Ranch — through the years, he’s taken some truly beautiful trophies. But the Axis buck had always managed to elude him… until now!

Persistence and patience paid off in a big way. Congratulations, Justin — we’re beyond thrilled for you! 👏

Ballard with his beautiful Axis buck!
We thoroughly enjoyed having this group at Escondido Ranch and look forward to their return soon.

These Axis in velvet make absolutely stunning mounts! Unlike native deer, Axis bucks shed their antlers based on their birth cycle rather than a specific season. This allows hunters the unique opportunity to pursue them year-round — and occasionally harvest one still in velvet!
