A honey badger can walk straight into a raging swarm of bees and keep eating.

For most animals a hive is a warning. For this one, it is an opportunity. The real advantage lies in how the animal is built.

Honey badgers have unusually thick, rubbery skin that resists hundreds of stings. That skin is also loose, sliding around the body so attackers struggle to land a firm bite or grip.

Pain tolerance plays an even bigger role. Swarming bees strike again and again, but the badger rarely reacts beyond a quick shake of its head.

When it finds a hive, the animal digs or tears straight into it with powerful claws. Honeycomb breaks apart in sticky chunks while thousands of bees circle in a furious cloud.

Inside the comb is what the badger came for. Honey, wax, and protein rich larvae packed with calories.

Most creatures would retreat from the noise and pain.

The honey badger simply keeps eating.
