Fall Session: Cacao Facilitator Training
SEPTEMBER 12 - NOVEMBER 21

What does it mean to become a FACILITATOR within these indigenous led circles?

"Facilitating “cacao ceremonies” is not about you, it’s not about being an expert or “holding space” as the west teaches you. It is the call to facilitate the healing medicine of reciprocity with all by being an example. Some call this Aloha, others the Beauty Way, others the Red Road. Whatever the name used, it is a call to a way of living ceremony everyday.”

Ancestor collection spotlight:
KŪPUNA (KALO / TARO)

Kalo (Taro) is a central plant ancestor in Hawai’i that is deeply woven into the cosmology, land, and wisdom of these islands, and across the deep waters of the Pacific, as it has been traveler, been shipmate, essential to survival.

Kalo may surprise you,
by how it holds you, nurtures, with incredible patience, and gentle yet high expectations of your capacity.

Gentle and sustained nurturing prepares you for the greatest leaps.

PRIMARY ENERGETICS:

-Nurturing sustained over time
-Resiliency through crisis and upheaval
-Belonging & homecoming
-Grounding & connection with dirt/earth
-Ancestral healing
-Persistence to reach your potential

When to use our Cacao & Kalo KŪPUNA Ancestor collection blend:

-Developing belonging in the non-human world, especially when struggling to feel belonging with humans

-Building capacity to feel consistently nourished versus experiencing constant feast/famine cycles (internal and external)

-Working towards your potential by having an undercurrent of life-affirming support

-Shifting how easily you are swayed by others’ agendas and perspectives by strengthening groundedness in self and ecosystemic family

-Expanding your understanding of ancestry, understanding entire ecosystems as extended families

-Resilience through different seasons of life, and periods of crisis or strife

-Patience and persistence with long-term projects and goals, even those that are intergenerational or will not be completed in your lifetime

Kalo/Taro cacao is available in minis, discs, and 1 lb bars, to support your work with plant ancestors.

You know where to find the link!

Many people come to our cacao to learn HOW to learn from non-human teachers, cacao being one of them.

When you are stuck circling a problem on your path, one that you cannot seem to see clearly, or you flip flop back and forth on, working with our Ancestor Blends can help you to get outside yourself, and see a way through it, by asking for guidance from that which is NOT HUMAN.

Our Ancestor Blends are some of the best cacaos to do this work with, because you are working with both cacao as a teacher, AND the plant or mushroom alliances that are included in our recetas (recipes).

These multi-plant alliance blends help you to step outside your VERY human perspectives, to understand coexistence, reciprocity, and animism from non-human eyes and senses.

Work with one of our four Ancestor Blends today:

-Rose and Hibiscus
-Chaga
-Awa
-Kalo

All four varieties are available in 1 pound bars, ¼ pound of large discs, or 37 grams of our minis.

Let the plants guide you.
You are never walking your path alone.

Not all cacao tea is created equal.
We've been getting some feedback from folks trying other cacao teas, and thinking they didn't like cacao tea at all until they tried ours.

Our cacao tea smells like chocolate. It tastes like chocolate, but light and floral at the same time, and without the heaviness of cacao.
It is wonderful to drink either hot or iced, and doesn't have caffeine, since it is the remnants of the fruit around the bean, rather than the bean itself.

It goes through the same ceremonial treatment as our cacao beans, including it's transformation through fire.

We *love* cacao tea, and it's been especially wonderful cold during the heat of the summer months here in Hawai'i.

Join us for a cup by ordering one of our four cacao tea blends, all made with intentional plant relationships to support you in different ways.

We so often hear people say "we have to speak for the plants because they can't speak for themselves."

But is this really true, that plants can't speak for themselves?

Or is that we have lost the skill of listening, and in fact are experts at disregarding the message "no?"

The modern western world flagrantly disregards the process of permission and consent from plant medicines when making so called "indigenous medicines."
And whether you realize it or not, this is having an effect on what the plant world is willing to provide to humankind, and also the efficacy and wisdom that is being offered through these medicines.

Not everyone can truly listen.
Who are you trusting to be able to listen to the plants, see the signs being offered, and make medicine that is based on a process of deep observation?

The deeper you go into this work, the more carefully you will choose.
When permission is not asked, cacao notices.

The medicine shows itself, when consent is freely given.
How could it be any other way?

Every single bean we make into cacao has passed through our hands, multiple times.

We do not have temperature and humidity controlled roasters, making "small batches" of 1500 pounds (!!!) of cacao at once. Yes, that is considered "small batch" in many cacao companies.

We make our cacao just 8 pounds at a time.
All of it is made here on land that we are in deep relationship with. Land we have defended from poison, tended, and sometimes even bled onto as we engaged in stewardship.

Our cacao is a beautiful, artful, sacred labor of love.

Support people who are working this way in the world.

Let these beans, filled with so much love, carry some of that love to you.

Try our micro batch ceremonial cacao, all grown here in deep relationship on the Big Island of Hawai'i, with zero slave or child labor, made by our four hands.

Head to our links to explore all the cacao we have available.
Or send us a DM, and we'll give you a personal recommendation on where to start!

🌙✨ Reconnect with ancient rhythms

Notice the cycles of nature, and how your body may desire to follow them, listen to them.

You may find harmony and peace, not with the modern world, but with that which existed long before us, and will exist long after us.

Sit with the moon.
Warm your hands around your cup of cacao.
See the steam rise upwards.

Take a breath.
Your heart is beating.
The seasons are still changing.
We are a tiny blink in the life of the universe.

Breathe out.

Culture lives through practice, tending, and listening. Not through taking, and assuming.

The cacao we work with carries teachings from real lineages, real elders, and real places.

Our responsibility is to honor that heritage through continued learning, accuracy, and relationship — not through ceremony centered around the aesthetic of spirituality without tradition or genuine connection.

True respect begins with understanding where the medicine comes from and the people who have safeguarded it for generations.

Take note.
Choose what you drink accordingly.

Taste the difference in our small-batch Hawaiian ceremonial cacao. 🌱

Each bar is crafted with care, intention, and respect for the plant, the land, the ancestors, and all of our spiritual relationships.

From bean to cup, the journey our cacao goes through preserves the richness, nuance, and soul of cacao unlike anything mass-produced, or made without the daily practice of work and relationships that our cacao is supported by.

Head to our site to order one of our single farm one pound bars, all hand poured, holding the medicine of one specific place on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Smell the bar when it arrives.
Notice the imperfections, and yet the beauty of the cacao in front of you.
It is real.
Sip your cup slowly.
You might notice your dreams changing.
