Local honey reflects the unique plants and flowers that are pollination sources of the area, giving it distinct flavor. Because it’s produced close to home, local honey is often less processed and retains more of the natural qualities that make honey so special. At Kuilima Farm, honey is a true taste of the land—shaped by the surrounding flora; the purple crown flower, ‘ilima, and the milo tree, and the hardworking bees that call the farm home.
Kuilima Farm honey harvests are available at the farm stand!

At Kuilima Farm, the herb garden is like a natural medicine cabinet—grown to nourish both body and mind, all while staying rooted in the ʻāina. The next time you cook, remember—herbs aren’t just flavor, they’re a blend of natural wellness in every bite.
From soothing to energizing, each herb brings its own natural benefits—mint for digestion, lemongrass for calming, parsley for nutrients, dill for gut health, lavender for relaxation, and rosemary and thyme for immune support.

How’s this?

Mahalo to Sophie and TK from for coming out this morning to provide valuable one-on-one support to our partner farmers who were impacted by this yearʻs Kona low storms. Connecting farmers affected by the recent storms to funding and resources that are crucial for their recovery has been an ongoing priority for Kuilima Farm staff. We are grateful for the collaboration with Ag Stew to help meet our farmers where they are.

Itʻs inspiring to see the ag community come together like this-supporting one another, rebuilding, and keeping Hawaiʻiʻs local food systems strong.

From mauka to makai, learning comes to life at Kuilima Farm. Third graders from Kahuku Elementary got their hands in the soil—planting, exploring canoe plants, and discovering how caring for the land supports healthy communities and coastlines.

Through partnerships like these experiences are helping the next generation build a deeper connection to ʻāina and understand their role in mālama ʻāina

To some, this may look like just an empty field. But to farmers, it’s a field of opportunity. This freshly prepared land is the beginning of the next growing cycle. Soon, this space will be planted with asparagus, carrots, and beets, transforming bare soil into rows of vibrant crops ready to nourish the community. Farming always starts with a vision — and a field like this holds the promise of future harvests. Follow along as this open space grows into a field full of bounty.

Trees are an essential part of a healthy farm ecosystem. At Kuilima Farm, trees are planted thoughtfully and with purpose — from windbreak trees that shelter crops, to food-producing trees like bananas and ʻulu, and native trees that help support Hawaiʻi’s natural ecosystems. Each one plays a role in creating a balanced, resilient landscape.
When you plant a tree, you’re investing in the future of the land.

At Kuilima Farm, every day is Earth Day. Sustainability is at the root of everything happening on the farm — from growing lettuce in a solar powered hydroponics facility, to planting native plants that support local ecosystems, and using sustainable and natural farming practices that help produce healthy crops while caring for the land. These efforts are all part of a bigger commitment to mālama the ʻāina and grow food in ways that support both the environment and the community for generations to come.

Kili’s journey at Kuilima Farm has come full circle—what began as an internship through the FE‘E program with MAO Farms has grown into something much deeper. Now a full-time team member, Kili is harvesting the very kalo she planted during her time as an intern. A reminder that farming grows more than food—it grows connection, purpose, and the next generation of farmers.
