Meet the Cookie Monster: Blue ube cookie dough, white chocolate chunks, and a heavy-handed amount of crushed chocolate chip cookies because subtlety felt wrong here.

The color is real. The flavor is ridiculous. Crisp edges, soft middle, and somehow even better than we expected.

That honestly feels pretty crazy to say out loud.

A little over a year ago, Kalamazoo Cookie Co. was just me baking cookies out of my house. Now there are somehow 1,000 of you following along, supporting the bakery, sharing posts with friends, placing orders, and helping this thing grow into something real.

Some things just make sense together.

Salted peanut butter cookie dough, packed with chopped peanuts and filled with ribbons of jam. Sweet, salty, soft in the middle, crisp around the edges. The lunchbox classic grew up a little.

These cookies are headed to the CHAMPS Celebration today.

Communities In Schools and the Kalamazoo Community Foundation brings together people doing real work for students in Kalamazoo Public Schools — the kind of behind-the-scenes support that makes a difference every day.

I’m really grateful to be a small part of it this year. Getting to contribute to something like this is exactly why I do what I do.

If you’re looking for a way to support local kids and education in Kalamazoo, CIS and KCF are doing it right. Worth checking out.
