What a year 2024 has been for our orchard!

When the tornado came through Portage in May, we got straight-line winds which knocked down 85 trees in the orchard...you read that right...EIGHTY-FIVE!

We spent countless hours and days uprighting trees, getting 70 of them up. THEN another storm blew through and knocked 35 trees down that we had uprighted! Some trees are a total loss, some trees are still down, and it is not safe to have people in the orchard with so many trees still down.

The unseasonably and early heat set things ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, we also saw a lot of trees drop their apples. :(

When and if we have any apples available, it will be posted here on this page. It would be roadside sales only, on the honor system (or you can always check at the house as we are here much of the time).

Sorry that this is not the best news, but it is what it is. Hoping to get the remainder of the trees uprighted before winter and that they will recover from the massive stress they have endured.

We have many apples! Varieties available: Honeycrisp, Macoun, Empire, Cortland, Gala, Northern Spy, and some Zestar apples left.

Apple prices (except for the Honeycrisp): $6 1/2 peck; $10 peck; $16 1/2 bushel, & $27 per bushel. Honeycrisp prices: $9 1/2 peck; $15 peck; $25 1/2 bushel; and $40 per bushel.

Roadside stand out and ready for you to pick up your apples. Mix different varieties if you’d like to (excluding Honeycrisp).

Hello to all of you who have liked and follow this page!

Here is an announcement for this coming apple season: we will not be having apple sales at least through the month of September. We will reassess the situation at that time and determine if we will have any apples to sell for October. Thank you for your understanding!

And...that’s a wrap! All apples have been picked. We still have many, many apples! If you want some, please let us know. We’ve pulled the roadside stand, but can still sell apples to you!

We have Idareds and Gold Rush apples available. Gold Rush is a yellow apple. Not too pretty to look at, but clean up well and are excellent for applesauce and making your own cider.

Remember: apples are on sale for $15/bushel, $8/half bushel, $5/peck, and animal apples for $8/large feed bag.

Thanks for a good season, and here’s to hoping we can have U-pick next season (provided the weather holds in spring, and the trees cooperate)!

We picked the rest of the Cortland and Idared apples! Now the only remaining apples on trees are Gold Rush. Getting to the end of the season, so come out for our SPECIAL:

Picked more Cortland apples today, and they are even sweeter than the ones we picked earlier!

Still have A LOT of apples left, along with some butternut and acorn squash. Come and check us out and get some apples while the getting is good!

We still have a lot of apples!

Honeycrisp, MacIntosh (almost gone), Fuji (limited), Macoun (very small amount in the Mix it Up! bins), Empire, Cortland, Idared, and Jonafree (variety of Jonathan) are all still available!

Mix it Up is bins of different varieties for you to choose to fill your bag (we have bags). We do ask that, if you take from the baskets, that you transfer the apples into bags provided and leave the baskets for future use. Thank you!
