There are few things more rewarding in life than watching a young person grow into exactly who they were meant to be. For me, one of those people is Emelia Perez.
Emma came to me years ago as a young, timid crazy horse girl who simply needed a new horse. I’ve now sold her 3 each one a stepping stone—but what I truly gained was the privilege of helping raise her, coach her, and become one of her dearest friends. I have watched her transform from that quiet, eager kid into a beautiful, confident rider and a true horseman in every sense of the word!!
She has always given her whole heart to anything she does but horses are her true lifestyle. I remember how proud she was the first time she learned to give a shot, wrap legs, braid her horses, and take on the responsibilities that come with horse ownership! She never backed down from the hard work. She embraced it with excitement, determination, and a smile that made everyone around her believe in her too!
What makes Emma special goes far beyond her skills in the saddle. She is the first to offer a helping hand in any area of life, the first to step up when someone needs support, and the first to be there with a shoulder to cry on. Her kindness, grit, huge heart and loyalty are unmatched. She shows up for people the same way she has shown up for her horses—with everything she has!
Somewhere along the way, that young, crazy horse girl became one of my closest friends. And now, coaching her through this next chapter—her journey as MQHA Queen for 2026—is going to be the best one yet! Watching you Emma follow your heart and step into this role fills me with pride that is hard to put into words. (Let’s be real I’m a horse trainer I only know…. “Sit up, heals down and use more leg”) 😘

You have grown into an incredible young woman, a true horseman, and a leader who will represents MQHA with grace, strength, and heart. I am honored to stand beside you on this next journey!!
