For us, all glory is always to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is no glory but for Him. We feel so blessed to be His hands and feet in our community. Our goal is to make healthy local foods and non-foods accessible to everyone in our community. No pesticides, no chemicals, no dyes or toxins. Everything handmade and grown right here on our small family farm. We are small- but our sights are big. We know that together we can create a system of not self-reliance, but community-reliance. Togetherness. TRIBE.

Today we got an unexpected surprise of an additional batch of chicks! I think as far as surprises go…. This is a pretty good option. Everybody looks healthy and are making themselves comfortable in their new space. It’s very warm these last couple of days and the brooding room is inside of a metal building so it’s very warm! We again feeling so grateful for all of these wonderful things that we get to be a part of in our community. We’ve had a few people reach out to us about buying young hens later in the season from this batch. We think we probably will have some for sale, but these are maintenance birds to replenish our flock. We do not cull birds on our farm. I have hens on the property that were born in 2020. we like to just let them enjoy their life, but we do lose birds nearly every day so once a year we replenish 100 to 200 birds without the flock growing much overall. Always baking something.

5:00am apple crumble. For the 4th grade. That I found out about last night. I’m so grateful for my life. I have a wonderful husband, wonderful children, opportunity upon opportunity to serve our communities… so many things to be thankful for.

And what a privilege it is, to be exhausted living the life you prayed for. Thank you King Jesus for every single minute of lost sleep- working for and worrying about these people in my life.

I wouldn’t trade any of it.

Someday, my house will be quieter and cleaner. But today- up before the sun working on apple crumble and breakfast and lunch for my little basketball team is exactly where I’d like to be.
