The last day of PA archery season is here and it was a good one. The woods were absolutely beautiful. Silent with the wind howling occasionally. White out snow, babbling streams, deer running. Even a morning hunt can fill a soul with this kind of weather.

An old military tote that once housed missile guidance systems has shifted to housing whitetail missile guidance systems.

You'll find everything in my tote. From all my gear, my saddle gear, any accessories, packs, tripod, hammock setup, and cooking gear.

I'll basically be living out of this until next year. Designed for quick access, to house all my gear in one spot, and to keep me efficient during the season to stave away the burn out.

The woods are finally starting to come alive here in Pennsylvania. The weather is warm, critters are moving, the groundhog is already back in my yard. Ya know, Spring things.

I'm home for a while after a winter of travels and I've already lost count of the hours I've put into the woods (not that I was keeping track). These woods fuel my soul like no other. It's the one place both my body and mind can wander and not know what's next.

Today was a good day to wander and find some sheds. Though, it was a bad day to not have a backpack on this hike. Lesson learned.

While rubs aren't my favorite sign in the woods to see, I utilize them to help determine paths of travel, what buck made it, etc.

You'll often see larger bucks hitting larger trees. Older bucks tend to have a distinct pattern to their rubs based on size of tree, and shape of the rub.

I have an idea of the buck that made this one. What do you guys think?

Hunting to me isn't merely about harvesting an animal. It's about enjoying the beauty of nature. Behind every tree could be a window to a new world you've never seen, take time to enjoy it while you can.
