This has easily been the most strenuous year for coffee buying we have ever gone through since our founding and we couldn’t do it without the help of our supply chain partners across the globe

We are breaking the barrier between our two roasting companies and opening up the factory this Thursday for a FREE tasting of our current offerings from both OLEO and Marcell.

A little more about us:

Marcell Roasting Club is a wholesale only service that provides custom roasted private label coffees as well as our own core offerings to resellers. Created in 2019 to empower cafes, bakeries, coffee shops and beyond with tailored solutions for success and a focus on their own custom retail offerings.

OLEO Coffee is a direct to consumer brand that exists to create retail experiences, our own branded coffee offerings, well made products and is a platform for our limited partnerships and creative collaborations. Founded in 2021 we opened our first retail shop Take Care in November 2023.

Both of our companies work directly within our supply chain for our sourcing and we have traveled to visit our producing partners in Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Nicaragua and Costa Rica since our inception.

Come out this Thursday to taste and learn more about the world of Marcell and OLEO.

Gesha Giveaway

For this years anniversary coffee we wanted to share something special from our supply chain and and did not disappoint

Grown in Matagalpa, Nicaragua this lovely coffee comes from Finca Las Delicias and is single varietal Gesha nano-lot hand plucked from a small grove of trees planted on the lush and biodiverse property

After selectively picking and separating, the ripest cherries are then fermented anaerobically without oxygen in barrels that are stored in low temperature walk in coolers which slow and control the production of microorganisms that add to this coffees insane complexity

The resulting cup is super clean and vibrant with all the fruit of a natural and the delicate floral tones from the Gesha variety

Anyways, We’ve got 60 bags of this beautiful coffee that we’re GIVING AWAY next Saturday during our 5 Year Anniversary Party to whoever shows up early

If you can’t make it Saturday, we will be featuring this coffee on drip and selling a few retail bags at next Friday 09/27 from 7am - 10am when the Marcell crew takes over Take Care for a few hours

Later this week we will be opening the factory doors once again to our wholesale partners and their employee’s for our second Weekly Tasting and Open House

This will be an opportunity to see the roasting space first hand, learn something directly about coffee, taste some of our current and upcoming offerings and mingle with the community that makes up the Roasting Club

From 1-2pm we will be doing an introduction to cupping lesson alongside a tasting of our newest limited release Ethiopia “Harsu Wokilo” led by our head of Quality Control Bret Ivy

From 2-4pm will be an open hang session that encourages direct engagement between our clients, their employees and our behind the scenes operations team

Back in Guatemala for the first time since February 2020 with to visit

We have been buying our core Guatemala coffee through these entities since our founding in 2019 and we are always inspired to see the other side of our industry first hand

Traveling to origin is an important part of our culture at Marcell and an opportunity we value greatly as we continue to develop and grow relationships with our producing partners year after year

It’s an invaluable learning opportunity and typically an unforgettable experience but at the end of the day it’s about showing up for the people we value in our supply chain
