The Dragon Boat Festival took place in KC this past weekend! 🐉🛶 Have you ever been??
The Dragon Boat Festival is a major Chinese holiday celebrated in the 5th lunar calendar month that dates back over 2,000 years. The festival originated by commemorating Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet in ancient China. When his state fell to invaders, he drowned himself in the Miluo River as a protest against government corruption. According to legend, locals raced out in boats to save him.
Bo Lings loves taking part in the Kansas City celebrations for this traditional holiday each year!
