This queen is a champ! This is her 3rd year and she's still the best layer, her hive has never stung me, and she gave me the most honey last summer. That's why I use her larvae to raise new queens!

Black Locust blooms signal the beginning of the honey flow in the Kansas City area. Usually this kickoff moment happens the first week of May, but with the warmer weather we've had this spring, they are blooming now! The honey from these blooms is very light in color and has a distinct floral taste. It's my favorite honey!
