Hey everyone! Cultivate KC needs votes to score some generous support from Boulevard Brewery. Cultivate KC does great things for farming in Kansas City.
It's easy, you don't have to sign up for anything or share your email. It takes less than a minute. So do it. I'd really appreciate it. A bunch of farmers would appreciate it. Go to:
http://boulevard.com/welovekc/index.html and click on the Cultivate KC logo. That's it. Have you done it? Yes? Congrats, you are now an honorary farmhand.

Now's your chance to help your favorite charity. Vote by clicking on their logo.Vote again 24 hours later. Voting open for the next days.

Gee. A year has gone by and here I am singing the same tune.. in the rain.
Saturday the forecast is for rain, rain, rain. And I have produce, produce, produce. So if anyone is looking for tasty romaine, lovely fennel, celery, sugar snap peas, shelling peas, chard, kale, scallions, dill, basil, parsley, kohlrabi, green cabbage, radishes, beets or broccoli then please put on your galoshes and rain hat and head down to the Brookside Farmers' Market on Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm. Unless the lightening is fierce the veggies and I will be there.

It's also the last day for my garden transplants of tomatoes, pepper and eggplant. On sale, 3 for $7.00.

Ah, rain. Nothing slows farmers' market business like it. And here I am with totes full of beautiful head lettuce, radishes, asian greens and even some wild crazy nettles and chickweed. Not to mention a van full of transplants for the garden.
I say, put some rain shoes on and head down to the Brookside Market. Thou shall be rewarded with green goodies.

Nothing like spring planting panic. Beautiful weather, yes? Looks like the weather and soil will be perfect for a frenzy of planting - potatoes, peas, lettuce, spinach, leeks, onions. Now I just need to clone myself and convince the sun to stay up a few extra hours....

Whew! The greenhouse heater is fixed! (Thanks, Will at Pleasant Breeze H and C!) Current count of trays of green, growing things in greenhouse: 312. That is about to jump to many more next week....
