Back in March, I had the privilege of being part of this beautiful content shoot at ! 🫶
I was able to fill the cake artist spot last minute after the original artist had an emergency. I had never done anything like this before, so I was SOO nervous. It was like my first month marketing myself as a legit wedding vendor, and I had absolutely no idea what to expect with it all. 😅
I had two designs in mind for this. One was more dainty and a bit on the “safer side”, less colorful, but still super pretty. And then there was this one.
Bold, colorful, fun, really artistic, extremely textured, and for sure almost borderline too much. 😂 But there was something in me that just wanted to pour my heart and love for art straight into this and hope for the best.
Welp, I am SO glad I went the bold route haha. I think this cake really spoke to the shoot’s name, “Painted Romance!!” 💘
I definitely overthought this one and immediately wished I had done some things differently. But looking back now, I’m so glad I created it the way I did:)
I feel like so much has changed since that shoot, and who knows what creative direction I would take if I were given the creative freedom to do that shoot again tomorrow. But this cake speaks to me WAY more now than it did when I first created it. 🥹 And now I can say I really do love it and how beautifully unique it is.
Maybe art is supposed to feel that way sometimes:) Maybe there are times when you create something, grow and change, and then come back to it later and it speaks to you in a whole new way!!
ANYWAY, short story long lol, I’m so grateful I said yes to this opportunity, even when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. 😂
I can’t wait to keep creating fun, colorful, artistic designs like this! 🌸😄
