Last weekends project!!! 21 quarts of pickles from the garden... Pop's dill pickle recipe from allrecipes www.allrecipes.com/recipe/218121/pops-dill-pickles/

The addition of fresh cloves of garlic to the canning jars make these crunchy dill pickles extra tasty.

Salad cucumbers: great raw alone, in cucumber salads and/or whole grain salads. Good for refrigerator pickles. $3.00 per pound

Organically Grown Veggies Available This Week*

Salad Pack - includes a mix of flavors and colors - Cherry and saladette tomatoes, Cucumber
Red onion and a Sweet colored pepper. $7 per pack (equivalent organic veggies sold at local grocery store cost $10-11)

Fresh Salsa Pack - includes enough tomatoes, onion, sweet and hot peppers to make 2 pints of salsa. Recipe included for fresh or roasted salsa. $10 per pack

Frances’ Healthy Vegetable Sauce Pack - includes enough fresh seasonal vegetables and herbs to make 3 pints of sauce. Includes a recipe and directions to make a delicious sauce that is excellent paired with pasta, rice/whole grains or eaten alone topped with cheese. $12 per pack

Good resource for storing herbs for later use....

Take a look at those herbs above. The ones on the left look liked they were probably picked fresh just before I photographed them, while the ones at the right had been hanging out in my refrigerator for weeks in a forgotton plastic bag, right? Wrong. All of those stems of cilantro are the exact same...
