Grain is essential for pregnant Nigerian Dwarf goats, especially in the last month, so it can provide the massive energy, protein, calcium, and nutrients they need for the rapid growth of multiple kids, this prevents the doe from becoming too thin (ketosis) also try avoid feeding so much grain that kids get too large for safe delivery, this requires a switch to high-quality alfalfa and a gradual increase in a balanced goat feed. That’s why we here at Wispy Pines Have taken so much time and careful planning on what mix is most appropriate and most beneficial for our gals! Cost is not an issue when it’s comes to the health of our goats.
