! Long post, lots of pictures!
Every once and a while I get Bob to stop and admire the flowers (I would say "smell the flowers" but it is allergy season). Farmer Bob has been doing a lot of traveling this week both on his Gator and in his truck gathering produce and plants. All week I have been telling customers peach season was over and he found peaches from northern Pennsylvania. The variety is O'Henry, a yellow cling free variety, so we will have peaches for a couple more days. He also picked up more white sweet corn, cantaloupes, and watermelons, among other things.
The girls have been harvesting a lot on the farm this week so we have an abundance of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and more. We will have poblano peppers this week, for those of you who have been asking. We do have some canning tomatoes by the box. Call Farmer Bob for availability. (Don't message or leave on the post because we don't spend time on our phones during the day and we won't get your message until after supper, which was 9 pm yesterday) Bob does answer his phone, 304-676-7564.
We also have started getting fall flowers in stock.
Mums, celosia, asters, flowering kale etc.
On a sad note. We will not be selling milk from Walnut Hill Farm any more. One lucky customer bought the last 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk yesterday. The Butchers are closing their dairy. Bob and I had a great working relationship with them and we wish them well. We recommend you check out our local agricultural friends, at Level Green Farm, who carry the creamline milk, eggs, meat and more at their own farm market. They are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
We are open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Just ignore the Winter Market signs until after Christmas 🤭
