Land For Good

Land For Good 20 years expanding farmland opportunity. Providing expert guidance to help farmers, landowners, and communities navigate land access, tenure, and transfer.

We envision a vibrant landscape of working farms managed by thriving farmers. Entire communities will benefit from increased farming opportunity, healthy lands, and a more secure food supply. We believe that long-term solutions for improving farmland access for beginning and established farmers must make land available, affordable, appropriate and equitable. Thatโ€™s why we develop, promote and supp

ort diversity and innovation around farmland tenure. We seek approaches that benefit farmers as well as landowners and the land. We take a systems view. This means we address all aspects of the issue and work with all who have a stake in the future of farming. Visit LandForGood.org to get farmland access tools, resources and help for farmers, landowners, communities, and policy makers.

The Capital Equipment Assistance Program (CEAP) is a competitive grant program from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets. This program funds up to 90% of the purchasing cost of field equipment for water quality improvements on farms. For example, the program often funds equipment for cover cropping, conservation tillage, or innovative manure or wastewater management.

It's National Dairy Month ๐Ÿฎ Meet our friends at Grace Pond Farm!

Rhiannon and Gregg are the duo behind this thriving pastured livestock and organic dairy farm based in Thomaston, Maine. In 2018, they took on the incredible task of reviving an 80-acre property that had sat largely unused for decades. Since then, theyโ€™ve built their infrastructure from the ground up, growing a herd of 30 dairy cows and establishing a truly integrated ecosystem.

Rotational Grazing: Their cows, broiler chickens, pigs, and turkeys work together in a multi-species system that maximizes pasture value.

Soil Health: Every animal plays a role in enhancing soil fertility and land health.

Community First: For Rhiannon and Gregg, the farm is more than a business โ€” itโ€™s a cornerstone of the local community.

Stewardship: Their ultimate goal? To leave the land even better than they found it. ๐ŸŒŽโœจ
