The Huwa Cattle Company was founded in 2001 by Brent and Tonya Huwa. Since then our Black Angus herd and our family has grown significantly! In 2012, we decided to take our family ranching operation in a new direction. After noticing a need in the marketplace for family ranch raised, all natural beef, we decided to start Huwa Reserve Natural Beef. We wanted to give consumers an alternative to the
highly-processed, off-the-shelf beef you find in grocery stores. Our main goal is to offer our customers a place to buy high-quality natural beef that they can feel confident about eating. Cattle from the Huwa Family Ranch are started on grass and finished with a 100% vegetarian grain formula to produce some of the most tender, highly marbled and excellent tasting beef you’ve ever tried. Grains fed to Huwa Reserve cattle are grown right here on the Huwa Family Farm by Brent’s father and brothers, which allows us to guarantee our cattle receive only the most wholesome foods possible. Our family has been working in agriculture our whole lives—Tonya’s is a 5th generation rancher, and Brent, a 4th generation farmer and we are so blessed to work alongside our whole family on a daily basis who share our passion for the agricultural way of life. Brent’s parents, Rich and Patty as well as Brent’s brothers, Tyrun and Corey and their wives, Kelli and Rachel and Tonya’s dad, Jerry play a huge role in the Huwa Reserve operations. From herd management to raising the corn and grains for the cattle, we couldn’t do it without their help and we enjoy running the family business alongside them. We’ve always wanted our children to be raised in this lifestyle and to be able to work with us and their siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to help manage the ranch and farm. Luckily, our kids – Cody, Kylie, Austin, Trey and Brealynn – have, without a doubt, embraced our lifestyle and have been nothing but a blessing to us. Ranging in age from 14 to 3, our kids keep us busy running from rodeos, sporting events, 4-H, cattle shows and school! We’re so happy they enjoy working on the farm and ranch. In addition to running the farm and ranch and selling beef, we have built up a herd of award-winning show cattle, as well. We are immensely proud of the fact that they are raised right here on our ranch and shown by our kids. Cattle from the Huwa Cattle Company have won numerous awards including the Colorado State Fair Grand Champion Steer in 2011 and 2012. At the end of the day and after all the hard work is done, what motivates us to put so much time and energy into Huwa Reserve Natural Beef and Huwa Cattle Company is our children and the promise we've made to family ranching. We want to give our kids the opportunities to partake in the agricultural lifestyle as well as give our customers a taste of what natural, family raised beef is all about. But above everything else, our strong faith in God is what has given us the courage to pursue this dream.
