Looking for new market opportunities for your farm products? This might be of interest to you.

We have not ventured very deep into this market ourselves, but do sell ground beef to one local daycare. It’s rewarding to us see kids getting nutritious food raised and grown locally. It might be an option for you too.

The Minnesota Farm to Kids Roadshow is bringing in-person training and facilitated networking sessions across the state to help foster connections that get more Minnesota-grown food onto kids’ trays. Join us along with the Minnesota Department of Education, Renewing the Countryside, and U of MN Extension the following dates and locations:

March 24 – Cloquet
March 25 – Brainerd
March 26 – Bagley
March 27 – Mankato
April 2 – Rochester
April 8 – Roseville

The University of Minnesota Extension in Olmsted County, in partnership with the Minnesota Grazing Lands Conservation Association, is offering an interactive Crop and Livestock Integration Workshop. Farmers will learn important soil, financial, crop, and livestock concepts related to integrating crops and livestock on their farms.

An interesting study comparing cropping only versus integrated crop and livestock systems. We run an integrated system, which has worked well for us. Some of the findings in the study hold true in our program.
