What a gift to see a on the first day of Fall! It was really loving my sage plant. Monarchs are migrating south right now and are officially in Oklahoma.

September garden. Do sprinkler sounds give you childhood nostalgia? It takes me back to my mother’s garden in the summer. My garden is not perfect, repairs need to be made on beds, plants need to be trimmed back. My garden fence project has been slow. I am planting “rest” in my raised beds this fall by covering the soil with hay. Sometimes beauty grows right in the path, so I’ll choose to let it stay there until it has given its last.

I am hardly ever out front, but I was mowing the other night, working fast to get it cut before more rain, and I had to stop and catch my breath, the sunset was breathtaking! I feel so spoiled to live here. Photographers, you don’t want to miss sunsets on our farm!

***Photo venue update!!!****We have been on vacation, but we are back home now and opening our calendar on Friday, June 12th! We started decorating the barn porch and will be adding more decor before Friday! Here is a sneak peek for the 250th birthday celebration / 4th of July backdrop on the barn porch at our vintage farm. Tonight’s sunset in the field was gorgeous! I am always blown away at the beauty of creation! The wildflowers are vibrant and strong this week, so come on out asap if you want spring wildflower field pics!! I started videoing at 8:08 and the field was dark by 8:30. Our evening house are extended to accommodate for sunsets.

The field is so pretty right now! I love how perfectly our field sits. We have beautiful sunsets right to the west of our 10 acre field almost every night.

I’ve been a bit out of touch posting here, for many good reasons and that is okay! Everything is great, just super busy.

First, we just recently purchased the property next door and moved my father-in-law in. He is excited about helping in the garden and wants to grow watermelons! He is a retired rancher, so I am thankful for the experience that he will bring and we plan to move the goaties to his fields.

Second, I am working in the gardens almost daily. I have planted about 50+ varieties of perennials, annuals, and trees so far this spring! I still have more seeds to get into the ground and more plants to plant. It is a joy, but also difficult when the weather is crazy windy or raining cats and dogs. There is always a dance around the weather when farming and gardening!

Third, we have 4 teenage boys! Need I say more?? Hah! Our days are busy with homework, piano lessons, soccer, and now football! And food..so much food!

Despite all of this busy busy, we have completed several projects around the farm (and have more in progress) that are going to make the best photo backdrops for you. We are a work in progress, but we are still here!

Just dropping some fun on here! We have had 8 Nigerian Dwarf kids born this past month and it has been sooo fun!! 🤩

March…you were lovely and challenging! I look forward to April showers that way everything will green up, and hoping for a little less wind! We have been busy over here with 6 new baby goats, a big barn clean out, and building a garden fence. March’s skies needed a permanent spot.
