We are setup at the CLC Kendallville Farmers Market this morning. Stop out and see all the great local vendors.

Also, we are offering Fresco Spice Blends this year. We only offer 3 of their blends that pair well with our lamb. However, they offer many more spices. Check them out at https://www.frescospiceblends.com/

2026 Lambing has begun at Greener Pastures!

1st day brought 5 new lambs.

The 3rd picture is Denali. She was our bottle baby from Jan. 2025. She just had her first ram lamb yesterday.

We are expecting 35 - 40 lambs to be delivered in the next 12 days.

All are doing well and needed no assistance. Just like nature intended.

New recruits have arrive for the Greener Pastures defense system / grounded Airforce.

These are 3 new geese. Some friends hatched them for us from our eggs.

Hopefully they are not as mean to humans as their Dad is!

Spring is here!
Maple syrup season 2026 has finished. It was a strange year. Most of the sap was harvested in the last couple of weeks.
A few years ago we installed tubing and vacuum pumps in most of the woods. This is actually a "slushy" pump re-purposed as a sap pump. They run on air from the compressor. It pulls sap from the trees and dumps into a collection tank.
This is WAY easier than picking up buckets!

So, we planned our lambing for late April 2026. This allows for lambs to be born on green pasture grass with less work from us.
However, we bought 4 Ewes and a young Ram this summer......
Apparently, the Ewes were bred by the young Ram before they joined our flock.
The joke in sheep farming is that "they will have lambs on the worst weather day of the year".

The twins (1 male / 1 female) arrived during the snow storm on Sunday. The single lamb (female) arrived on Wednesday. Not sure on the status of the other two Ewes, but one looks very pregnant!

All are doing well.

New Product Alert.

In 2025 we added Jalapeño/Cheddar Lamb Brats.

New in 2026 is Regular Lamb Brats. (Yes we are still making Jalapeño/Cheddar too!)

Freezers are fully stocked with Beef, Lamb, and Pork. Contact us with your orders.

All the Ewes should be bred and due to deliver late April.

Orange marks on their b***y indicates we have trimmed their hooves. We can't get them all done in one day, so the spot identified who was already trimmed. It will wash off them with rain.

Well, we are still here.....just way overdue for making a farm update post.

December has been a busy month at Greener Pastures. Beef, lamb, and pork all went to the butcher. All will be available around the first of the year.

Feel free to contact us if you are interested in anything. We can even put together a custom "box" of you favorites if you desire.

Picture is for attention. This was taken on Thanksgiving while the pigs enjoyed a pumpkin. These Red Wattle pigs are so well behaved and gentle!
